UVALDE, Texas (AP) — Frustrated onlookers urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman’s rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, witnesses said Wednesday, as investigators worked to track the massacre that lasted upwards of 40 minutes and ended when the 18-year-old shooter was killed by a Border Patrol team.

Onlookers urged police to charge into Texas school

I am getting tired of seeing the same plot in every version of this horror movie and me and my guns getting blamed for it.

Update:

It seems it is even worse.

  1. As my wife and I were talking about this story over morning coffee, my response is that cops always get self-righteous when challenged and start trash talking like “you hate cops, but who do you call when there’s trouble, huh?”. Well, I don’t call you, motherfucker. Not till it’s over, anyway. We need someone to haul the bodies out.

And yes, there’s good cops out there too. My neighbor is one. But like they say, the 99 bad apples spoil the bunch.

    1. It’s not clear if this is video from when the shooting was happening (in which case it would be bad) or after the bad guys was taken down (in which case it’s a lot more reasonable, “rushing in” at that point is not a good thing).

    2. Most the time LEOs show up after the carnage has happened. Their special talent of course is to do a “clean up in Aisle 6”, count the bodies and write up a report. I would say We the People need to promote the BP agent who got the job done, but not really. He was the only one on the front line that was willing to do the job.

  2. One of the bits of the story that gets mentioned but not analyzed enough, though today’s WSJ had some details.
The killer “barricaded” himself in a classroom. The responding border patrol officers could not break in — cinderblock walls and a steel door. They had to wait until a master key was obtained from the principal’s office.
If you’re going to design class rooms to protect the bad guy from the good guys, it should be very obvious that the people who are IN the classroom have to be armed, since the so-called “first responders” won’t be able to respond.

    1. The cinderblock walls and steel door are supposed to keep the killer from getting in the classroom in the first place. The minute he rushed the door and made his way in, there should have been an alarm and all teachers should have immediately locked the doors shut. That would have confined him to the hallways. For all the bragging the school district did about its “safety measures”, apparently locking the door before the killer entered wasn’t on the list.

That said, we don’t have all the details. Yet.

      1. In all reality this likely happened. Unfortunately you probably can’t stop someone from entering the first room but you can probably stop them from entering the rest of them.

  3. Consider the source. That article devolves into the typical left wing cheerleading and propaganda after the recounting of the alleged police conduct. I’m not saying the police couldn’t have fucked up this badly, I’m just saying the person who wrote that article probably thinks all American law enforcement is racist and needs to be defunded. The AP has a long history of lying.

  4. This puts a new spin on it;

Badgees, we don need no stinkin badgees.

Because if the federales aint going, you go.

  5. I want to hear more about this….and if true they waited outside for 40 mins there had better be a goddamned good reason. That video shows parents being detained, and the AP article mentions several parent were ready to rush the school. When have you ever seen or heard of such a thing? What the fuck were the cops doing for 40 minutes??

Somebody had better explain, because if this was another Parkland, some folks better lose their jobs.

  6. There is a bit of armchair quarterbacking going on here. Granted, all reports say this was obviously a mass shooting event. Therefore hesitation is not acceptable. However… A first responder rushing into the building without knowing what is going on may end up being MUCH worse than taking the time to evaluate the situation.
    .
Happens all the time. Firemen show up, and assess the blaze. Before going inside to rescue someone, they confirm structural integrity. Same with paramedics. Is it safe to administer aid? Do I have adequate protection for my own health?
    .
Should this have been different? Absolutely, but before damning the police, take the situation into account.
    .
And, it is pretty obvious, based on information I am seeing (yes, I know incomplete information) that the police did not take action swiftly enough to save lives.

    1. Not to be picky, /s but what firemen do and what paramedics do is a totally different situation. Yes, they have to assess those things, but when guns are going off, fuck that “well, let’s see what’s happening, even if a few more people are murdered, we have to go home tonight” bullshit. An active shooter HAS to be confronted RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!! Aren’t willing to put your ass on the line? Then stop the bleeding heart “we got a dangerous job” bullshit, it ain’t dangerous if you’re standing outside listening to kids dieing.

    2. That was the rule until Columbine: surround the building and wait for SWAT. Ever since then, the rule is rush the building and engage the shooter. Oh, firefighters don’t wait if there are victims inside of a burning building. They rush the building and rescue people.

    3. Thats there JOB.
And if they Die, well, they get schools named after them, bridges and a Large Funeral.

2 cops thats all, could have saved kids

  7. This was Texas. WTF?

If the final toll had been 21 dead kids, and 20 dead douchebadge cops killed by bystanders who rushed them and went in themselves, policing in America by the state would be over. And it will be, one of these times. And the memorial for the dead cops afterward will be a funeral pyre of their dead bodies, at the incident location same day, under signs that say “You’re Fired!” and “Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish!”

And no one will be more surprised than the surviving douchebadges, who think getting home every night is their #1 priority, ever.
They’re more afraid of a little tranny slayer than they are the eternal shame of cowardice when it matters.
Every one of them who stood around should be fired for cause, and publicly named as cowards by the city and citizens thereof.
A permanent plaque with their names and cowardly bystanding deeds detailed for posterity should be erected at Coward’s Park, on the site of the slaughter.

The lesson would be learned by every generation of kids attending there, forever, and would be worth solid gold bars to civilization.

  8. I’ll take the time to note again that these “tragedies” seem to occur just before a critical political moment in the gun rights arena… like say an ATF nomination. These fucks are sick, and need to knock it off with the kid killing.

  9. To those of you supporting and defending the cops on this one. Explain to me how some of the cops on scene can enter the school to rescue their own children while simultaneously not engaging the shooter AND, as a bonus, pinning parents to the ground to keep those parents from rescuing their kids? They stood there in body armor and carrying fucking machine guns while 8, 9, and 10 year old kids were getting shot in the face and did worse than nothing- they actively prevented the kids’ parents from doing it, either.

Name for me the police procedure that says rescue your own kids, but screw everyone else and theirs? Anyone who defends those actions can kiss my ass. I spent a 30+ year career as a firefighter, running into burning buildings to rescue all that I could. Not once did I stay outside where it was safe. Every one of those cops at that scene was a cowardly pussy.

  10. When one of these incidents pops off there are two clocks running. The first clock is to stop the shooter. The second clock is to stop the bleeding. You can’t do #2 until you take care of #1 and these cowards couldn’t be bothered to try to do either. I wonder how many kids could have been saved from #2.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
