That fast means the cops were right there literally a few yards away.
From what the Dayton Police Chief has said, that’s a normal thing, especially on the weekends for that neighborhood.
For the police to have such a heavily manned presence as a normal course of business should tell people something about that area.
Yes, very well done by those cops. And yes they saved a multiplicity of lives, but everyone was damned lucky.

From a dead stop, have someone give you the command – unwarned – to run out your front door to ‘engage’ an imaginary foe and have them time you.

Officers running TOWARD gunfire, God bless ’em. They were there at the scene, and yes, saved many lives.
But for most of us, they’re not right there; they’re not supermen, and cannot be all places at all times. So – Cary your guns, folks! You never know when you might need it.
Compare and contrast with Sheriff Israel and Scot Peterson. They skillfully formed a perimeter and allowed Cruz to not only kill teenagers until he was satiated; but casually stroll out in the confusion and stop at a fast food joint.
Ditto Orlando cops at the Pulse Nightclub. The Orlando cops managed the deaths of most of the 49 people as they commanded and controlled doing nothing for three hours.
