This one I have to disagree.
I will respectfully disagree with Mr. Cooke. This is not a corporation seeking to get reduced taxes or allowed to bypass certain OSHA regulations or even contribute to causes that might run afoul other political entities. They were full press court against a law that tries to protect little children from deviates and groomers in school. They are against a bill allowing parents to make sure their kids are safe and allows them to overview what is happening with their education. They are against the safety of people who are the reason adults shell a bunch of cash in their parks and make a profit for the shareholders.
They are not to be given a second chance and a warning must be sent out to others: You try and hurt children; you will pay dearly.
I am all for drawing and quartering the Mouse to set a memorable example.
Also, there’s no serious proposal to draw and quarter the Mouse – only to revoke DisneyCorp’s unique status as an quasi-sovereign Indian tribe.

Plus, why should a company be made into its own government simply because it’s a big company? They got those privileges (according to the story I read) because the counties in the area (county?) didn’t have the money and people to do the work they needed to do for Disney to build DW here in Florida. If that was the case, then fine, do some emergency legislation so they can build. At 50+ years, it’s long past time to declare an end to the emergency and take away their special privileges.

The issue has been for the past 20 years or so that taking the high road when you get any kind of victory gets you no political capital whatsoever. The next day, on one remembers or cares how well you got on with the losing side. The left wins without honor and they do it repeatedly while pissing on you for good measure. Time to start slam dunking shit in their face, and do it with as much light on these issues and data as possible.
Cooke is the typical “Professional Conservative” the Republican Party is infested with. They may occasionally oppose the Democrats, but they really, really hate the Republican rank and file voters. These highly credentialed, big donor supported experts are the ones calling for a more collegial, bipartisan, corporate supporting but lily white country club Republican Party, The Democrats call them and us Homophobic, Racist, Transphobic, Hateful Rapists and American Taliban. The Professional conservatives keep telling us to “Turn the Other Cheek,” and reach across the aisle, like it was still 1962.

I want a Big Tent Republican Party built on secure borders, no illegal immigration, school choice for all, respect and equal rights, not special priveleges, with laws and regulations that encourage American Jobs, American Energy, and American Independence.
If the sides were reversed, you know the Democrats would be doing the same, and probably initiating Anti-Trust investigations into Disney too.
This is why I will support a President DeSantis. When the Mouse and its ABC network go up against President DeSantis, I hope he remembers to gut the Copyright Law protections back to a reasonable length like 25 years, not this 100 plus used to protect Big Mouse’s Mickey and Minnie.
