Expecting criminals to obey laws has always seemed to me to be a … let’s say flawed … approach.

Akin to a city charging higher taxes on ammo, say, and not anticipating the buyers might buy elsewhere. But with stronger consequences.
If they were honest people, the title on that section of policy would be “Defenseless victim zone”.

Nitpick: that section is actually on page 63, not 65.
Paraphrasing here, but “employees who see or suspect a violation…. should report it to their supervisor or principal immediately.”
How useless does that sound, after the fact?? I’ll bet the teacher who was killed wanted to report this violation right away.

Thankfully, there ARE districts in Texas where the teachers are armed. Sadly, this wasn’t one of them. Prayers for the families who lost members and those still in the hospital. And kudos to the BORTAC officers that went in and took that POS down!
