…and it pisses me off.

If you truly believe we were better under Obama and would have been better under Hillary, consider if not euthanasia, at least electroshock therapy.

I am tempted to weed out my Social media from imbeciles, but then again you need to know what they are doing so you can fix the stupid shit they do and say.

  1. I’m one of the ones who has made that observation, not because I think we would be better with Hillary, but to illustrate that Republicans are not the friends of gun owners. They only care about us at election time.

Just because the Democrats are your enemy does not mean that the Republicans are your friend. The founding fathers knew this well: they knew that power in government hands was dangerous, which is why such great care was taken to keep the powers of government limited. We as a nation have spent more than a century removing the safety mechanisms: we gave them a standing army, we allowed them access to unlimited funds through an income tax, reduced our representation from one per thirty thousand to a size of 435, and have slowly allowed them to ignore parts of the Constitution that limited their powers.

This is what we have left.

    1. Republicans are more pliable to the efforts og Gun Advocates.
I forgot who said it but it goes something like “We can use a politician that does the right thing for the right reason, but I will settle or a politician who does the right thing for the wrong reason.
      That covers the Republicans.

  2. There are a couple of ways to look at it.
Do Republican politicians always act the right way about guns? No, they do not.
Do Republican politicians, on average, act better about guns than Democrat politicians, on average? Absolutely they do.
Are there Republican politicians who are worse about guns than the average Democrat politician in the USA? In their state? Probably yes on the first, and probably not on the second.
If you want to support politicians who are 100% right on guns, good luck. If you want to support politicians who are better than Republican ones, you might vote Libertarian, except that such politicians don’t get elected so you’re not getting anywhere.
Finally, if a Republican politician goes blatantly wrong, should you stop voting for him, or even vote for his opponent? That’s a matter of taste, and I can see arguments either way.

  3. It is ironic that we haven’t heard a peep from the resistance in response to the most tyrannical thing President Trump has done since he’s been in office.

  4. Hey, I even wrote Nelson to demand he vote pro-gun even though I knew it was fruitless.

I’ve been to my state Rep’s local office to explain to one of her staffers how 7026 was, indeed, gun control. She asked questions rather than just going into denial mode or saying “nuh uh!”

I’m going to be going back soon to let her know that she should support a repeal of most of that POS law because the investigation came to the same conclusion we were screaming about the whole time. Fruitless, I know, but it’s harder to ignore me in person.

The only time I didn’t bother writing for the hearing protection act and reciprocity was the lame-duck push. This bill passed the house a while ago and the senate didn’t pick it up during an election year when it would win them the most support from us. Why would they listen now?

I’ve only so much energy. The closer I pay attention the more betrayed I feel. The more betrayed I feel, the less energy I have… It’s a death spiral.

  5. The only thing you can really, really count on, is that a Democrat will fuck you, hard, and feel no remorse. The Democrats think that they are doing you a favor. Every time.

The Republican will vote right, but they have to be needled, goaded, and reminded daily who their base is. It is hard for us working men to be there all the time. Oh, I wish I was independently wealthy, so that I could be my own lobbyist!
