The video is dated from 2010, but it just came in the random YouTube recommendations. In case you did not know it, Mel Brooks composed the songs that went in his movies. But perhaps the best part of the video are the faces of those in the balcony and some in the crowd at the selections used to celebrate Mel. I think I heard teeth grinding when Springtime fo Hitler popped up.

Is it me or Springsteen was not too happy to be sitting next to Mel or maybe is the devotion of the people to him that upset him?

  1. With anti-Semitism rearing its ugly head around the world today, I can see why some people were irritated (shocked? appalled?) that “Springtime for Hitler” was included, especially if, like so many vapid celebrities and opinion makers today, they’ve never seen “The Producers.” But still . . . would one of the foremost Jewish moviemakers of all time glorify Nazism? The mind boggles.

    1. Well they toned it down from the movie, no swastikas, no goose stepping dancers in swastika formation, no “Nazis, go in to your dance.”

  2. Growin up I really liked springsteens music. Then he started runnin his mouth during GWs time in office and he performed at obams emacation. Why is it these a$$holes make millions of bucks by We the People being fans and they just HAVE to shit all over America? I wouldnt pee on bruce if he was on fire. Sad, but then Im not askin him for a charactor reference
