Bronx educator claims she was fired after sharing Holocaust story, refusing ‘Wakanda’ salute

A veteran Bronx superintendent once praised by Chancellor Richard Carranza for her successes in the classroom claims her career was derailed by his “equity” agenda — forcing her to take a demotion in a desperate bid to preserve her pension, according to a $150 million lawsuit.

Karen Ames, a 30-year Department of Education employee, says she was targeted by Carranza’s “Disrupt and Dismantle” campaign to oust or marginalize longtime employees because she is over 40, and Jewish.

Ames was grilled about her “ethnic background,” chastised by a colleague at a training session when she shared her grandparents’ experience during the Holocaust in Poland, and “admonished” when she declined requests at superintendents meetings to take part in the comic book movie-inspired “Wakanda Forever” salute to “black power,” she charges in the legal filing.

At an implicit-bias workshop where superintendents were asked to tell their personal stories, Ames talked about her grandparents’ loss of two children during the Holocaust — only to have colleague Rasheda Amon tell her, “you better check yourself,” the lawsuit alleges.

“That is not about being Jewish! It’s about black and brown boys of color only,” court papers quote Amon as scolding.

The Woke magisterium hates the Jews.

(I use the term magisterium because it is a religion with an orthodoxy enforced by people in power.)

A central tenet of Woke is that the reason some groups today are poor and underrepresented in areas of success is historical and ongoing oppression.  The Jews have been historically oppressed but today are on average fairly successful.

This gives the Woke cognitive dissonance and so they lash out and hate the Jews.  We’re not alone in this, the Woke magisterium has recently turned against successful Asian immigrant communities for the same reason.  They can’t handle the reality of successful minority groups as they undermine the ideology that to be a minority is to be oppressed and therefore poor and disadvantaged.

Also, the part about the Wakanda salute, as ridiculous as it sounds is totally on-brand for the Woke magisterium.

Remember that Maxine Waters gave the Wakanda salute at Arthrea Franklin’s funeral.

A subset of the Woke Left latched onto the idea that Wakanda is what Africa would be like had it never been colonized.  Seriously.

A fake African nation created by two Jews to add diversity to Marvel comics in 1966 has become this fake history point of pride for the Woke Afro-supremacists like it was a real nation.

There is no reason for anyone who is Jewish to support the ideology of Woke, the Left always comes for the Jews in the end.
