This is important, it puts her lies on record.

Here is why this is critical.

The speech and debate clause of the Constitution protects Members of Congress from libel and slander for things they say on the Floor.

This is how Harry Reid could say Mitt Romney never paid taxes and not get in trouble. He said it from the Floor.

If this is an official House activity, AOC can accused Republicans of anything and she’s protected by the speech and debate clause.

If there is a place for her to say “Rep/Senator [Republican] coordinated with people in the crowd to find and murder me,” she is not liable for slander.

IANAL, and I very well could be wrong, but I suspect that she’s been caught in a lie that is getting dangerously close to getting her into real legal trouble, and by making this airing of grievances a House function she’s invoking Constitution protection unique to Congress to continue to lie.

  1. But will the debate clause cover what she’s already posted on Twitter?

IANAL, but I don’t see how it can.

Not that anyone will go after her for any of it. Not now that she’s played the “sexual assault survivor” card.

(I know we’re supposed to #BelieveWomen, but I can’t help but wonder if her “survivor” story is anything like her “Capitol riot” story….)

  2. Republicans should read the stories of people caught up in Antifa/BLM riots into the record.

Along with quotes from the Democrats supporting those riots.

  3. There’s another approach to answering her if she makes wild personal attacks under cover of the Debates clause.
The response should be a strong and clear statement that she’s a liar, making her lying statements under cover of that immunity. The response should NOT be in the House but rather on TV, or in a press conference, or the like. It should make it clear that the responder is NOT hiding behind immunity.
She can then respond in one of two ways:
    1. Sue. If so, she loses her immunity, because she has to show in court why the response is knowingly false.
    2. Let it ride. In that case, the responder can point out that, even though you’re not shielded by immunity, she was afraid to push back, which proves you’re honest and she’s not.

Meanwhile, it still feels great the way she’s setting herself up to be the face of the new Democrat party.

I said under another post (one about her changing “Capitol riot” story), that though she claims Republicans want her dead, I want her very much alive and where she is, in front of the cameras.

She unwittingly pulls the mask of the Democrat-Socialist agenda. She and the rest of the Squad are like pre-written Republican campaign ads, filming any time a camera is pointed in their direction, and running on the news 24/7! For Free!

Lord, please keep her alive and healthy right where she is — a junior member of the House, with real authority over nothing — and revealing the Democrat-Socialists for what they are!

      1. She’s just the latest, and most telegenic, member of the House Idiot Cacaus, along with Greyson, Brown, McKinney, and a large number of others.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
