Not a joke.

“The violence they experienced is something many families in our community are still working through,” the message said in part. “Triggers – like loud bangs from fireworks – can bring back a flood of memories from an act of violence we all would like to forget.”
The city is holding a pre-planned fireworks event starting at 9 p.m. inside Mullins Park and has set up a text alert system that will send messages to those with PTSD and other noise related disorders alerting them in advance of the display’s start so they can prepare

Coral Springs to Residents: Don’t Use Personal Fireworks Out of Respect For Parkland Shooting Survivors

I have seen some amazingly conceited bullshit before, but this one is making the top 10 easy.  A pack of Black Cats is gonna send somebody into a psychotic event, but literally pounds of black powder exploding very fucking loudly in the air are not going to create mental issues.

Virtue Signaling bullshit.

  1. Nothing unusual here. It’s the usual “Rules for thee, but not for me,” routine.

  2. Good Psychology says this is bad for people with PTSD too. It makes them more sensitive, not less. They need to be exposed to stimuli without there being danger to be brought back to normalcy.

This type of “we can’t trigger people” is SJW pop psychology that shuts down arguments. It doesn’t actually help people.
