Sometimes it is hard to post about the Cult to Stop Gun Rights Violence without wearing a visor to avoid facepalm injuries. This is a screen capture of a long Facebook post about Gun Free Zones which I’ll try to analyze a bit at the time.

It starts with:

Gun lobby propaganda to the contrary, “gun-free zones” remain – far and away – the safest places in America.

Sure, that is why mass murderers never go to a Gun Free Zone but places full of guns like Gun Ranges, Gun Stores, NRA conventions, etc.

Yeah, our Orwellian talking point would be…reality?

Be still my beating heart! Somebody who actually thinks is posting here? Conspiracy!

She doesn’t like Gun owners much, does she?

  • Coalition to Stop Gun Violence It deals largely with the issue of enforcement; whether you are going to give law enforcement the immediate ability to remove guns from a situation when they are detected or there is reason to believe they are on the premises. That kind of discretion is critical in defusing potentially dangerous situations.

Correct me if I am wrong, but LEOs already have that ability. Unless the CSGV Intern of the Day is vying for unreasonable Search and Seizure anywhere at any time without Probable Cause.

Ah crap Burt… you were doing good and you had to mess it up.

A what? And to quote from the Princess Bride: “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” I see they are still on the “The Right of the People” is a collective right in the Second Amendment but an individual right on the rest” meme. No wonder they keep losing court cases.

Or would it be because you know that the chances of having a Constitutional Convention to eliminate one of the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights has the same chance as happening as having a ski season in hell?

If it is any consolation, any rational human being would also confused about the subject. Magical Unicorn Safety Fields do not work well in the real world.

And which the criminals and madmen respect because they know violating them would be a crime….wait. Never mind.

  • Burt Pierce Yes, but without the right, people could pass laws against guns, or at least, to control guns. So long as that amendment stands, there is little hope.

Nothing wrong with the gun-free One, but enforcement becomes increasingly difficult when everyone has guns. Most guns the TSA finds were just left in people’s carry-on by mistake.

OK, my brain is hurting now. Burt…buddy…[sigh]

  • Coalition to Stop Gun Violence We might have to agree to disagree. There has certainly been progress on gun laws at various points in history with the amendment intact. As for gun-free policies, it allows for greater clarity and decisiveness in enforcement, allowing officials to take immediate action rather than waiting until violence begins to act.

Well, doesn’t that sound suspiciously more like unreasonable Search and Seizure anywhere at any time without Probable Cause? Do I detect a new trend here?

Color me surprised Burt.

  • Judy Chittim Gun free zones need to increase across the country! CC’s stay home and everybody’s happy!

And she is off her medication again.

And if you read the whole thing, here is something to help you deal with it.

  1. CSGV seems to be a bit pro 2A, except for that infringement part. While I’m sure their ultimate goal, still, is to make all firearms illegal, that just doesn’t fit quite well with the political climate, or their Fudds. It would be nice to catch them agreeing with Burt about repealing the 2A

  2. I wonder what Ghengis Khan would have said to these kind of idiots, if they’d tried to take his sword away? Never mind. Stupid question. He’d have killed them in one of any number of horrible ways and mounted their heads on a pike in front of his tent as a warning to anyone STUPID enough to still hold those views.

  3. …allowing officials to take immediate action rather than waiting until violence begins to act.

    (emphasis mine)

Once again, blaming some abstract or inanimate object for the actions of a human. “Violence” does not and cannot act on its own, any more than a gun can “go off” on its own.

It’s no wonder their movement is dying out.

  4. The “Lib” mind is a strange & scary place 🙁
If there was a way to make “it” into a Halloween mask…………. 🙂

  5. Perhaps Burt’s seemingly schizophrenic posts are as a result of trying to get them to admit that they want the amendment repealed. I think I need to go smoke an ounce of weed, drink a fifth of everclear and shoot up a heroin & bath salts speedball to be on the same mental level as CSGR.

    1. Don’t forget blunt trauma to your head. Drugs alone will not achieve the “desired” level of cognizance.

      I don’t recommend it though.
