Diaz de la Portilla blocked two other bills that attempted to expand gun owners’ rights to carry their weapons. One bill would have allowed concealed permit holders to carry handguns on college campuses, and the other would have allowed them to openly carry handguns. Diaz de la Portilla said Simpson’s bill, like the others, offered no benefit toward safety.

We’ve been here before. This time we got gouged by a RINO so, it is open season on the Florida GOP idiots…. ALL OF THEM.
If I wanted a Liberal Democrat in the Legislature, I would have voted for one. So, I am planning on abstaining to vote for my State Rep and Senator until De La Portilla gets removed from his Chair or allows the bills to be heard. I encourage every Florida Gun Owner to do the same and let his/her State critters know why are we doing so.
And if they piss me any more, I am voting Grayson for US Senate. That would be electing Florida Man to represent the Sunshine State.

Right sentiment, wrong strategy. Call your rep. inform him that unless something is done, you will work for his opponent in the primary. If there is no primary, tell him you will work for whoever is running against him. Get all of your friends to do the same thing. When he shows his face in the district, confront him in person. If you can get a group of 40 or 50 like minded people together, so much better. Politicians will listen when enough people have the same message.
Florida is purple and with the new redistricting that seems to favor Democrats, it is easier and scarier for them to simply abstain. It has the message of “F*** You, we are the reason you lost control of the Legislature.”
The nice thing about electing Grayson is the way he’s going you’ll likely have a Special Election when he steps down for an appointment to Federal Prison.
If there is a write-in space in the Primary ballot, I am voting for Larry Correia of the MHI Party 😀

Just fired off an e-mail to my candidate for State Senator. He’s pretty decent and we have discussed this issue before. My friends, encourage your candidate to get in front and call de la Portilla to task.

We have the same situation here in Iowa. The President of the Senate trys to kill any pro-gun bill that comes along.
