I thought the purpose of electing Biden was to fix the Trump economy?

No, because what crashed the economy was Democrat led lockdowns.

Why ten years?

Biden serves two years before retirement due to health reasons. Harris finishes his term then two full ones of her own.

BidenHarris have been given preemptive cover by the media for their awful economies.

Hooray, a decade of suck.

Spread the love

  1. I thought the purpose of electing Biden was to fix the Trump economy?

Yeah, they’re fixing it alright, By the time they’re done, we won’t have an economy to worry about, but at least we’ll all be equally poor, except of course for our corrupt overlords.

  2. They’ve gotten into this weird habit of telling us exactly what they’re gonna do well ahead of time to prepare our minds for it. We saw it withe the election (won’t know the results for a few weeks due to mail in ballots).

This time they’re telegraphing that we’ll all be suffering for a decade. What kills me is just how many people enjoy being served a turd sandwich instead of demanding a refund. People will buy this BS, guaranteed.

    1. “eople enjoy being served a turd sandwich instead of demanding a refund. People will buy this BS, guaranteed.”

Because in their minds, anything is better than Trump. Trump single handedly destroyed society.

    2. They’ve gotten into this weird habit of telling us exactly what they’re gonna do well ahead of time to prepare our minds for it.

Yep. They don’t even try to hide the agenda anymore.

They don’t think they have to. They think we won’t be able to stop them. (With the current state of the GOP, they’re probably right.)

And they probably take some kind of sadistic pleasure in telling us how bad it’s going to be and watching us fret about it. Like some kind of megalomaniacal James Bond villain, sharing their whole plan before leaving us dangling over the shark tank.

  3. What NRW said.

Biden/Harris got elected to “fix Trump’s economy”.

Y’know, the economy that had record low unemployment for minorities (particularly, but not exclusively, black Americans), that had the stock market higher than it’s ever been in history, that was as close to balancing the federal budget as we’ve been in decades, and that was generating higher standards of living for all people from all walks of life.

That “Trump’s economy”. It had to be fixed.

    What was wrong with it?

Same as what was wrong with the GameStop short sells: The non-elites were doing too well, and so they must be put down.

  4. 4 years and Trump left us with a higher unemployment rate than when he took office.

You giving the new guy 2 weeks to turn everything around is absolutely hilarious.

I love your 2A coverage and technical posts but, holy shit, your politics are insane.

    1. Please.

We both know that Trump’s economy was short-circuited by a Covid-19 pandemic, and one which was used as a political cudgel to destroy the economy cited above. Take away C-19, and Trump has the best economy in decades.

And you know it. You just can’t admit it.

Not a fan of Trump’s personality or character, but we didn’t elect him as daddy. His policies, on balance, were very good. The next “Trump” can run on this:

*laws, judges and a judicial system which are solidly and immovably based on original Constitutional principles, especially an unswerving support of citizen’s gun rights, property rights, freedom of speech,
*a limited national government respecting federalism principles
*secure national borders closed to illegal immigration, and accelerated deportation of those who sneak their way in
*Americans having jobs before the jobs are outsourced to other countries
      *dismantling the regulatory state
*refusing to let eco-nonsense be the driving force behind policy and regulation,
*an “America First” foreign policy which understand that the role of the President and the federal government is to act first and always in the interests of the US. Work in international organizations when it is in our interest to do so, and do not when it is not in our interest to do so
*as a bonus, a massive downsizing of the size and reach of the federal government, including wholesale slashing of the massively bloated federal bureaucracy and the elimination of entire federal departments. Start with Education, and keep working down. (one can only hope)

      – and I’ll vote for you all day, and twice on Sunday. I don’t care about your character, your style, or your history. Do this, and you’ll win.

And this was, in a nutshell, and as much as possible given the deep resistance and active attempt of a slow-motion coup by the left, Trump’s policy.

As an alternative to the above, I’d accept the Ripley solution: take off and nuke Washington from orbit; It’s the only way to be sure. And I’m only partly kidding.
I don’t think much of official Washington understands at all how deeply despised the federal government is by much of middle America.

    2. Um, no. China sent us their virus, giving us a higher unemployment rate than when Trump took office and helping elect Biden.
Seriously now, are you going to say the CCP Virus is Trump’s fault? Is the vaccine his fault, too?
Also, the issue isn’t that Biden hasn’t repaired the economy in 2 weeks, The issue is that he’s promising us to take at least 10 years to repair it. And mind you, that’s in spite of the fact that it’s already mostly repaired (on Trump’s watch). Just as he promised us to vaccinate at least 1 million people per day — just as was delivered on Trump’s watch.

    3. @Phil:

Point #1: As others have pointed out, you know damn well that unemployment skyrocketed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lock-downs.

What others haven’t pointed out, is that Trump issued no federal mandates. Every one of those employment-killing shut-downs was initiated at the state-level, and the most restrictive ones (read: most business- and job-strangling) were imposed — and then perpetuated despite the numbers showing they didn’t work — by Democrat-led states. Republican-led states for the most part had fewer restrictions and suffered fewer job losses, and ironically fewer COVID cases per capita

IOW, neither Trump nor his economic policies were responsible for ANY of those lost jobs. Quite the opposite, without his policies the prior three years, there wouldn’t have been as many jobs to lose.

Point #2: We’re not ragging on Gropey Joe for not turning it around in two weeks.

We’re ragging on Gropey Joe for running and being elected on “We have a better plan for COVID”, and then once in office revealing that they have no plan and never did; it was all a lie. Instead, we’re just going to keep on with the masking and the lock-downs and the artificially-depressed economy. The only difference is, rather than leaving policy decisions to the states like Trump did, they’re federally mandating the worst of them. There’s still zero evidence that the lock-downs help anything and plenty of evidence they do more harm than good, so of course the answer is to lock-down harder, nationwide.

All this will do is ensure that the GOP-led states that weren’t suffering as badly as Dem-led states, will now suffer.

Makes you wonder if maybe that’s the point, doesn’t it?

      1. Some other things we’ve seen:
        1. In quite a bunch of cases, he’s latching onto things delivered by Trump and pretending they are his work. I mentioned the million vaccinations per day as one example; there are plenty of others.
        2. One of the biggest crises in the country right now is the destruction of public education by insane school shutdowns. The evidence from other countries is crystal clear that these practices are idiotic and unnecessary. There is also a whole lot of evidence that they cause very real damage to children, those of low income communities especially. The heads of the various health bureaus who the Dems told us BEFORE the election are the “scientists that we must listen to” are saying that schools can safely reopen and should do so; waiting for vaccinations is NOT necessary. What is the White House reaction to these scientific statements? “They were only giving a personal view; the official view has not yet been released.” Translation: we haven’t figured out yet how to white wash the marching orders from the teacher unions that schools shall not reopen in a way that lets us stuff them down people’s throats successfully.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
