There was a police shooting in north Nashville.

Both the bodycam and dashcam footage have been released.

The car was registered to an owner with six outstanding warrants, which is why the vehicle was pulled over.  The woman, Nika Nicole Holbert, was not the registered owner.

Holbert had a lengthy criminal record, including several drug convictions.

The media has yet to say exactly why the officer tried to arrest her, but driving a car that was registered to someone else and that someone else being a man with several outstanding warrants while having a long criminal history herself was probably part of it.

When she resisted, the officer stared with a taser, which you can see was not effective in either mode – after he shot her, he dry stunned her in the arm.

She still managed to get a gun and shoot him first.

In the usual fashion when a person with multiple convictions is shot by police, her relatives can’t understand why she was killed.  (Video cannot be embedded, go to the link)

Less lethal is just that, less lethal.  It’s not a definitive stop against someone trying to kill you.

Let that be an important lesson.

Also, given the demographics of the individuals involved and that it happened during the Chauvin trial, Nashville needs to prepare for the worst.

  1. Wow! That went south pretty quickly.

Lesson #2 – Even though the woman was shot at least once (I couldn’t tell), she could till drive her vehicle. Handguns are not as effective as they are handy.

    1. There’s a very famous case from Gainesville, FL. An officer pulls a driver over for suspected DUI and, I think, outstanding warrants. Driver tries, using his car, to kill the cop.

Cop unloads his whole mag in nothing flat. Driver continues pulling back, and then races off, finally dying and crashing blocks away..

Hit 7-8 times from close range and still able to drive effectively.

Of course the toxicology showed just about everything in his system at the time.

And, of course, being Gainesville, even with all the evidence supporting a good shoot, the city council and the city manager wanted the cop to be arrested and found guilty for the shooting, and the local State Attorney supported the attack on the officer.

  2. When she went into the car and started messing with her handbag the handbag became a legal place for the cop to search for his protection.

The cop found drugs in plain view in the bag which meant he could arrest her.

She started resisting which lead to the shooting.

Didn Do Nothin was busy disobeying lawful orders, resisting arrest, attempting to hide illegal goods and then shooting a cop multiple times.

    Likely a good shot.

The riots will begin at nightfall.

Sorry, after dark means they are protests

  3. Black lives will matter when they start mattering to the black people who are living the life.

Seriously. Multiple convictions, drug use, hanging out with a person with MULTIPLE warrants for their arrest. Does that sound like someone who’s life matters to them?

  4. Some context from a local:

There is a Nashville officer currently awaiting trial for first-degree murder for shooting at a felon who was running away while pointing a gun at the officer.

There is another Nashville officer who has been indicted for second-degree murder for shooting at a felon who was running towards him while shooting a Draco at someone else. He was a security guard at the time and joined the police force later. He was on-duty at

Both of these shootings were caught on video and provide clear evidence that they were good shoots. In the case of the security guard, the District Attorney originally assigned to his case actually complimented his shooting abilities. She was later fired and he was charged less than a week later.

Nashville citizens approved a Community Oversight Board after those shootings. It is filled with BLM activists.

They are going to have a field day.

    1. Query: Draco?

But yeah, when the activists start infesting your regulatory oversight, you’re gonna have problems.

          1. I know a guy who bought something similar to the Draco (PSA), reasoning “nothing says ‘get off my hood’ like 124 grains at 2300 fps, 30 rounds at a time!”

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
