Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. Pro tip of the day: get farther away, if the condenser ruptures, fire + HCFCs or CFCs = phosgene gas (highly toxic).

    1. Do some of the newer refrigerants have flammable gases (like propane) as part of the mix?

And the electrical disconnect is right above the flames, next to the wooden fence.

Not likely for residential use. Newer units typically use R-410A (not a CFC or HCFC) but there plenty of older units are out there using R-22 (HCFC) or even R-12(CFC). The problem is that you don’t know what refrigerant is used unless you get close enough to read the nameplate. To late after the fire reaches that stage.
