I thought it was The Onion: UK Pol demands GPS tracker in every knife sold.

But since it is a Twitter Blue-Checked account, I have to go with simply stupidity. He wants a GPS tracker AND the politician’s favorite gift: A Database!

I have not had enough coffee this morning to deal with the avalanche of stupid out there.

  1. I’m left wondering why he wants to include an exemption for fishing? Won’t anyone think of the poor little fish?

In all seriousness, why does he think that fishermen might need a knife, and no one else does? What other exemptions does he think might be a “bloody good explanation,” besides the obvious(?) one of fishing? (yes, I’m being daft on purpose, in case it isn’t clear)

Can an electrician have a work knife? How about a chef? Those seem fairly logical to me, and work related too, not a hobby/recreational use like fishing.

I want to see the whole list of exemptions and bloody good explanations that this guy has in mind.

    1. He’s also not understanding just how EASY it is for even the most inept person to make an edged blade on the fly. Even one out of flint, which is extremely common in the UK.
That is some Black-Hole stupid right there……

  2. “I have not had enough coffee this morning to deal with the avalanche of stupid out there.”

THAT is the quote for the day. I feel like that most mornings.

  3. Honest officer, I was out fishing when the boat capsized. I was barely able to save this one knife, all my other knives were lost at sea.

  4. You’ll note as well that he’s a Tory. This guy represents the “right-wing” of political thought in today’s United Kingdom: he is willing to let some people have knives, maybe, if they ask permission from the crown. The GPS database is his conciliation to Labour who wants a universal ban.

  5. This wanker wants to put a GPS tracker in every knife…..ok, fella. You can’t even keep knives out of prisons, what makes you think this is going to have any effect on anything?
