  1. I sort of get her point (w/ regard to trusting a complete stranger w/ your children). Gavin DeBecker brought up a similar point in his book, “The Gift of Fear.” We take our children to a school, and trust that a complete stranger (or a set of them!) will not only not harm our children, but will look out for them, educate them, take care of them for the eight or so hours in their custody. Outside of knowing that my school district does background checks, and having met and known some of the teachers over the years, I cannot say I know them like I know my closest friends and neighbors, whom I trust implicitly, explicitly and all other ways.

That said, since I have accepted that complete stranger as a custodian to my children during the school days, I now expect her to live up to her end of her own stated ‘bargain.’ She must now trust complete strangers with guns.

Should I hold my breath while I wait for that to happen?

  2. question: What is a “high-powered magazine”? all twenty of my magazines are powered by springs. Is there something I’m missing out on?
