Why we need California the way it is right now.

Because it best exemplifies what will go wrong with Liberal Democrats in full control.

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) — California is moving closer to charging drivers for every mile they drive. The state says it needs more money for road repairs, and the gas tax just isn’t bringing in enough revenue.

But wait! That’s not all!

But it’s not just a question about money, it’s also a question about fairness.
State Senator Scott Wiener and others are saying that when it comes to road taxes, it’s time to start looking at charging you by the mile rather than by the gallon.
“If you own an older vehicle that is fueled by gas, you’re paying gas tax to maintain the roads. Someone who has an electric vehicle or a dramatically more fuel efficient vehicle is paying much less than you are. But they are still using the roads,” Wiener said.

OUCH! Remember all that money you thought you were saving by having a fuel-efficient/hybrid/electric vehicle? Well, you also have to pay the California Tax Piper, bitch. Wait, you really thought it was about the Environment and clean air?

  1. Hahahahahahahahahaha! *Deep Inhale* Hahahahahahahahahaha!

I remember telling this smug s.o.b. lawyer that owned hybrid that electric cars would be taxed at some point. He laughed, saying that the government wouldn’t punish people for saving the Earth (I shit you not).

    1. “I am altering the deal. Pray I don’t alter it any further.” Progressives really don’t get that a government powerful enough to give you anything you want will be powerful enough to take away everything you’ve got.

  2. California is a laboratory for bad ideas. Unfortunately Californians love to bring them with them when they flee California for Oregon.

    1. Yeah, that’s a problem. When a Californian flees for a free land, he forgets to question the reasons Cali caused him to flee in the first place.
Thus, he wants his new home to implement the same failed policies.
      And thus Californication breaks out.

  3. But that’s RACIST!!! White people in LA and San Francisco can afford to live closer to where they work while poor, darker people have to live further away and therefore drive more.
