Happy ending, could’ve been better

Citizen convinces tricycle thief to surrender bike

Good:

Slidell police recovered a custom-made tricycle that was stolen from a girl with special needs.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday an anonymous citizen dropped off the stolen tricycle to the Slidell Police Department.

The citizen, who was in no way involved with the theft, was able to convince the thief to surrender the bike, according to police.

Better:

Along with the tricycle, the anonymous citizen dropped off a DNA sample of the tricycle thief in the form of a Ziploc bag containing a near complete set of the tricycle thief’s teeth.

  1. The taxpayers would just end up paying for new teeth for the punk ass thug when he or she makes their inevitable extended prison stay.

Besides, if you must mete out community behavioral adjustment, a broken arm or leg provides immediate, but less permanently debilitating feedback. Also it is easier to contradict any stories of adverse interaction. “He slipped and fell down the stairs in the shower.”
