I’d join AOC on this

AOC says Congress may form commission to ‘rein in’ media after Capitol riot

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed that Congress is looking into creating an investigative commission to “rein in” the media in the wake of the US Capitol siege

“We’re going to have to figure out how we rein in our media environment so you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation,” she said.

Yeah, I agree.

Pee-pee tapes, Russian collusion, kids in cages, dismissing the Hunter Biden story as Russian disinformation, “mostly peaceful protests,” etc. all were media lies.

This needs to be stopped.

Before you go all “but J.Kb., the First Amendment and a ministry of truth…”

There is a much better and Constitutional was of handling this.

Libel and slander have never been protected by the First Amendment.

We need to loosen the restrictions on public figures suing the media.

Show that something was reported factually wrong and campaign contributions fell off and that’s enough to claim damage was done.

I don’t want a truth minister. I want juries to weigh the facts, that’s how our system works.

Our media should be pants-shittingly afraid that if they say something provably wrong about a person, that person will take them to court and make them pay out the nose until they are bankrupt.

It is not that people hate New York…

From J. Kb’s post:

It is not like the country hates New York, but is simply tired of the attitude of faux superiority toughness they have till shit goes down, specially when they step out of the Five Burroughs.  I believe that if 9/11 happened today, about 2/3 of the country would go: ” Meh. <clicks remote> Hon, what do you want for supper? Pizza?”

That Australian gun control really worked

Armed ex-soldier allegedly storms animal shelter to get cat back

An ex-Australian soldier in full tactical gear allegedly burst into an animal shelter with an assault rifle and tied up a worker in a failed bid to get his kitty back, according to a report Wednesday.

Tony Wittmann, 44, was allegedly so mad when workers at the Lost Dogs’ Home in Melbourne told him he needed to wait a day to pick up the pet, he’s accused of threatening a 23-year-old female worker with the gun in the facility’s parking lot, according to ABC Australia.

He allegedly ordered the frightened gal to direct him toward the cats, then demanded that she get on her knees and tied her up with zip-ties.

Um… I thought Australia had a buyback and got rid of all the assault rifles.

Also, it looks like Australia will be banning zip-ties in the near future.

Last, all that for a cat?  A dog I understand, but a cat?  Clearly he’s crazy.

You are too stupid to understand COVID Vaccinations in Florida according to the Miami Herald.

It is like they were saving the special stupid for today.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available in South Florida, and the rules on who can get a shot, where and when can be confusing.

Here’s what you need to know:

WHO CAN GET COVID-19 VACCINES IN FLORIDA AND WHO CANNOT? DO YOU NEED PROOF OF RESIDENCY?
Florida is giving vaccines to healthcare workers, long-term care facility residents and staff, and people 65 and older, including snowbirds. Florida does not plan to require teachers and students to get the vaccine, even if one meant for children becomes available by next school year.

Florida does not have a statewide residency requirement to get the COVID-19 vaccine. This means if you live in Miami-Dade, you can get the vaccine in Broward or vice versa.

Was that too confusing for you, ye of Little Brain?” says the Herald.

As for the where, the same article calling you stupid lists a long list of places where you can get shots and how to make the appointments.

They do believe themselves superior.
