Some people are getting too big for their britches.

You guys know I am not a gardening aficionado.  But one thing I learned from mom is to have some fresh herbs growing because the flavor is always superior to the dried/processed stuff.  Yesterday I finally decided to replant her mini herb garden, add new soil and get rid of the old plants to make way for the new ones. And, of course, saved me a bunch of basil leave which now reside in the fridge. Fresh basil is expensive as heck in supermarkets.

Long leaf thing bottom right is culantro (Mexican cilantro) and it is amazing for beans

I wasted a full hour with this and it was relaxing and I almost had fun. It helped relieve the annoyance of being quarantined. Then, via Wirecutter, I find out that one idiot governor is ordering Home Depot and Lowes not to sell items that are deemed by her non-essential:

And now the Democrat governor is calling on Home Depot and Lowes to shut down to close certain sections like flooring, garden centers and plant nurseries.

Crazed Michigan Governor Now Tells Home Depot to Shut Down Unnecessary Flooring, Tiles and Garden Centers

This is absurd. We all have been joking about finally getting down with the Honey Do lists and these retailers have set up online sales and curbside pick up to lower possibility of infections, but this idiot rather push her power than actually allow her citizens to have a constructive outlet for times like this.

Th citizens of Michigan should be taking notes for the next election.

PS: Yes, that is a detergent container. Mom realized that it worked better than all other gardening watering devices she used and had the right amount of water for those pots and the orchid too.  And she was right.

Virginia: Gov. Northam signs gun control bills into law

Via Aesop.

RICHMOND, Va. (WHSV) — The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic does not change legislative calendars, and this coming weekend still marks the deadline for Governor Ralph Northam to take action on any bills passed in the General Assembly, which adjourned just last month, before sweeping changes due to COVID-19 took hold in Virginia.
On Friday, Gov. Northam announced that he signed a range of gun control bills, many of which passed in the final days of the General Assembly session in March, into law.

The bills signed by the governor on Friday are:

• Senate Bill 70 and House Bill 2, which establish universal background checks in Virginia
• Senate Bill 240 and House Bill 674, which establish an Extreme Risk Protective Order, allowing authorities to temporarily take guns away from people deemed to be dangerous to themselves or others
• Senate Bill 69 and House Bill 812, which reinstate Virginia’s one-handgun-a-month law
• House Bill 9, which requires gun owners to report their lost or stolen firearms to law enforcement within 48 hours or face a civil penalty.
• House Bill 1083, which toughens the penalty for leaving a loaded, unsecured firearm in a reckless manner that endangers a child
Northam proposed amendments for other bills without signing them into law, including:

• Senate Bill 35 and House Bill 421, which give local governments more authority to ban guns in public spaces, like public buildings, parks, recreation centers, and during permitted events
— The governor requested amendments clarifying the exemption included in the bill for institutions of higher education
• Senate Bill 479 and House Bill 1004, which bar people with protective orders against them from possessing firearms and require them to turn over their guns within 24 hours
— The governor requested amendments recommended by the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance to allow judges to hold the person in contempt of court if they fail to comply

So yes, the March they had in Virginia was pretty and thrilling, but useless.  Virginia jumped three decades back on Gun Rights. And God knows if they will ever get it all back again.

This is why we get involved soon and strongly when it comes to elections and legislation. This is why I abhor stupid unnecessary displays of tactical mental masturbation, they are a waste of time and even ammunition for the other side.

Let’s start to prepare for the elections in November, shall we?

I am sure this is going to go rather well.

A majority of Democrats want to nominate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for president instead of Joe Biden, according to poll results shared exclusively with The Post.

The national poll found 56 percent of Democrats prefer Cuomo, with 44 percent wanting to stick with presumptive nominee Biden — a 12-point margin well outside the 4.8 percent margin of error for the Democratic sample.

Democrats want to drop Joe Biden for Andrew Cuomo, poll finds

So, you are going t have a chunk of Democrats that went for Bernie and feel they were cheated during the Primaries. Next we are going to have another chunk of Democrats that voted for Biden and their choice will not be respected because the higher ups in the party feel Cuomo is a better challenger than Biden. And what if Cuomo fucks up or comes out evidence he fucked up the Wuhan virus response in NY? They are gonna tap Michelle O. to tag 2 weeks before the election?

I am sure there will be a high level of motivation to vote among Democrats come November.

Racism everywhere!

Rueben Roberts, a representative for the Miami-Dade County NAACP chapter, said the homemade face coverings may be a recipe for racial profiling.

“There is a concern for how people may perceive an African American man wearing a mask,” Roberts said. “They see us as a threat or as they see us just like any normal citizen that may be wearing a hood or wearing a mask for COVID purposes.”

Gary Wright expressed similar fears the masks carry.

“It’s definitely been a concern for me,” he said. “We can’t allow those stigmas to keep us from being able to keep ourselves safe and not worry about someone actually causing harm to you.”

I this guy seriously advocating for black people not wearing masks? Or that there won’t be anybody that will take advantage of wearing masks to commit crimes?

I am suspicious person by nature and this mask thing is not helping.  Please look at the forecast for my area:

If you are wearing a mask and a hood with 95 degrees busting the mercury, bet your ass I am going to be rather suspicions of your intentions and prepare accordingly. Just because there is a pandemic does not mean my security measures should be relaxed as to not offend some whinny activist.

Mass Graves but not in Ecuador: New York City

Now we are having the full fury of the argument we did not need to shut down the country because we will have the same amount of dead people as last year’s Flu season. That is accurate, but not true. The 2018-2019 season according to the CDC gave us 34,200 deaths and right now we already are halfway through that number with 12,704, but there is a big difference: The Flu season last year lasted from October till February (5 months) or 6, 840 deaths per month without any mitigation or face masks or isolation.  From March 7 to April 7 this year, we have had 12,676 deaths with full counter plague protocols and actions by most everybody.

You do the math.

5 types of customers since the “rona”

From an anonymous UPS delivery driver…
5 types of customers since the “rona”:

1) Steve:
He has been waiting for this moment his whole life. He has been drinking boilermakers since 10:00 am in his recliner and his AR is within arms reach. He has 6 months provisions in the basement and a bug out bag due west buried in the woods. Steve demands a handshake as I give him his package. He’s sizing me up as I deliver his ammo.

Steve will survive this, and he will kill you if he needs to.

2) Brad:
He is standing at his window wearing skinny jeans and a Patagonia t-shirt. He is mad because there were no organic tomatoes at Whole Foods today. He points at the ground where he has taped a 6 ft no go zone line from his porch. I leave his case of Fuji water, organic granola bites, and his new “Bernie Bro” hat at the tape.

Brad will not survive.
Steve will probably eat him.

3) Nancy:
She has sprayed everything with Thieves oil. Bought all the Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, meat, and bread from the local grocery chain. She has quarantined her kids and sprays them with a mixture of thieves, lavender, & mint essential oils daily. She has posted every link known to man about “The Rona” on her social media. She will spray you if you break the 6 ft rule. I will leave her yet another case of toilet paper.

She will last longer than Brad, but not Steve.

4) Karen:
She has called everybody and read them the latest news on “The Rona”. She asked for the manager at Food Lion, Walmart, Publix, McDonalds, Chi-Fil-A, and Vons all before noon demanding more toilet paper. Karen’s kids are currently faking “The Rona” to avoid her. I’m delivering “Hello kitchen” to her.

Karen will not survive longer than Brad.

5) Mary:
Is sitting in the swing watching her kids have a water balloon fight in the front yard as she is on her fourth glass of wine. She went to the store and bought 2 cases of pop tarts, 6 boxes of cereal, 8 bags of pizza rolls, And a 6 roll pack of toilet paper. There is a playlist of Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, and Post Malone playing in the background. I’m bringing her second shipment of 15 bottles of wine in 3 days.

Mary will survive and marry Steve.
Together they will repopulate the earth.
May God have mercy on us all.
