They Want You Dead: Man threatens Trump supporters with cane sword

James L. Whitehurst II faces 10 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

DUNNELLON — A 49-year-old Dunnellon man accused of threatening multiple people favorable to President Donald Trump, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of disorderly conduct by police.

On Thursday, Officer Megan Feliciani of the Dunnellon Police Department was called to the 11300 block of North Williams Street to investigate an armed man at a gathering where people were holding pro-Trump signs.

The victims told an officer that a man, later identified as James L. Whitehurst II, had approached them during their peaceful assembly with what was described as a cane sword in hand. The officer was told Whitehurst pointed the sword in their faces and made threatening statements.

8 more charges not shown. One count of Disorderly Conduct.

This event happened last week, but it did not get major coverage (I am shocked.) I just saw it posted over Dana Loesch and had to share it with you.

Using a blade and a van… it is almost like the Lefty weirdos were taking ideas from the newly minted immigrants to Europe, right? Aloha Snack Bar and all that?  I know! Bernie Snack Bar!

Independent journalists need to learn about Warren and Lozito too

Andy Ngo has posted more video from this weekend’s Antifa violence.

https://twitter.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1226442718559125504

I hate to be the guy that breaks it to the independent journalists covering Antifa violence in Portland or anywhere else, but the Federal courts have made it crystal clear that the police have absolutely no duty to protect you.

Warren v. DC is a Federal Court of Appeals case that made it clear that the police have no duty to protect individual citizens under the Public Duty Doctrine.

Lozito v. NYC was dismissed by a judge for the same reason when two of “New York’s finest” hid in the conductor car of a NYC Subway and watched as Maksim Gelman, who an APB was issued for, stabbed Lozito multiple times.

The police have absolutely no obligation to step in a defend a citizen journalist from being maced and beaten by Antifa.

Portland police can stand around with their thumbs up their asses and Antifa literally curb stomp a journalist to death in a city street and there is nothing anybody can do about it.

I’m actually quite sure that Portland police have been given that order by the city government and mayor.

When asked about this, Portland police had this bullshit response.

Except that after all the violence that was captured on video, there were only three arrests made and none for the attacks on citizen journalists.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said Willy Cannon, 25, was charged with a misdemeanor for abusing a memorial and a felony for criminal mischief. In addition to Cannon, the sheriff’s office said Brandon Farley, 31, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and Heaven Davis, 19, was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief.

So Antifa goons can attack journalists, beat them, and the police will ignore it when it’s happening and not do anything about it after the fact.

I have a feeling someday soon, some well-intentioned citizen journalist will be killed by Antifa, and the city government will blame the citizen journalist and figure out how to suspend the First Amendment in Portland.

The police are not there to protect you, and if the police are on the side of the thugs, don’t bother defending yourself because you will go to jail for that.

It’s best to stay away from Antifa in Blue states if you want to live or avoid prison.

Gun laws in NYC useless at stopping ambush shooting of police

From the NY Post:

Williams, 45, allegedly fired into a marked NYPD van near the corner of Simpson and Fox streets around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, grazing the neck and chin of one of the two officers seated inside, authorities have said.

But while cops were flooding the scene of the attempted murder of their fellow Finest, Williams didn’t flee — he casually strolled into Hunts Point Chinese Restaurant on Southern Boulevard, less than 150 yards away.

Shooting number one.

Less than 12 hours later, Williams had breakfast and allegedly unleashed a second round of hell at the area’s 41st Precinct station house, according to authorities.

He walked into the cop shop and allegedly opened fire with his 9mm SIG Sauer, striking a lieutenant in the upper left arm before running out of ammo and surrendering, police said.

Shooting number two, less than 12 hours later.  First he targeted a police van, then a police station.

Even in custody, Williams — described by NYPD officials as a “career criminal” convicted in 2002 of attempted murder — continued to spew anti-police rhetoric, vowing from his hospital bed to shoot another cop if he gets the chance, according to prosecutors.

A career criminal with at least one felony conviction.  I wonder how he got his gun?  I’m sure he didn’t have a permit or go through a background check to get it.

That threat was revealed at Williams’ arraignment Monday, when he was ordered to be held without bail in the face of 13 counts of attempted murder.

I’m sure that is just a fluke.  I have a feeling a judge will release him without bail in the next couple of days.

New York gun laws are notoriously strict.  Michael Bloomberg is running for President to make those gun laws the national standard.  Yet those same laws couldn’t stop one prohibited person from getting a gun and shooting at cops, twice.

Maybe someone should ask him about that at a town hall.

Dear Floridians: Don’t be Virginians and register to vote.

Last night I checked my status with the Miami-Dade Elections Board.

Twenty years voting! Yup, I have not missed an election since I became a citizen.

The Republican Primary is March 17 and it is a good moment to remind everybody to check their voting status. You will need to access your county’s election board or go to RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov and either double check your info or register if you are not in. Some years ago, my party registration was changed and I did not notice till I got my voter registration card. I raised hell and got it fixed without affecting my participation in the primaries.

We are seeing what is going on in Virginia. As pretty as the marches and protests are, they are being bulldozed into  DC Gun Control because elections matter and Democrats took over. And yes, I know Bloomberg threw a lot of money, but you also know that our side has been snoozing while sporting the false conviction that the advances in gun rights cannot be reversed. Virginia is proving that belief very wrong.

Sweet Schadenfreude: The Oscars down 6 million TV viewers from last year

The 2020 Oscars drew 23.6 million total viewers on ABC, down a whopping 6 million TV viewers, or minus 20% from last year. Like 2019, Sunday’s Academy Awards went host-less.
That move didn’t work out this time around, but the mix of movies may have been an even bigger problem.
In the key demographic, adults 18-49, the year to year drop-off was even steeper than the all-in decline. Last night’s show received a 5.3 rating in the demo, according to Nielsen, down 31% from the prior Oscars and to a new record low.

Oscars Lose 6 Million Viewers From Last Year, Set New All-Time Lows in Ratings

You turn on the TV for the Oscars and get to watch this:

You switch to reruns of NCIS in USA Network on the double. Dancing Monkeys slinging poo at everybody from their faux pedestal is not something regular folks cater to watch.

And if only Hollywood was making good movies, but even that had to be imported from the Far east this year.

Florida Gun Rights 2020 – CS/HB 311 – Threats – Acceptable Bill – Criminal Justice Subcommittee approves.

Decreases penalty for threatening to throw, project, place, or discharge any destructive device with intent to do bodily harm to any person or with intent to do damage to any property of any person; prohibits threats to use firearm or weapon with specified intent; provides exceptions.
I watched the streaming and the bill has approval so far, but it will be narrowed in scope to avoid questions of First Amendment violations and misuse by LEOs or Prosecutors. The Senate version appears to be what everybody wants.
(2) It is unlawful for any person to threaten the use of a firearm or any weapon at a child care facility as defined in s.402.302, a school as defined in s. 790.115(2)(a), a religious institution as defined in s. 496.404(23), a theme park complex as defined in s. 817.361(1)(c), or any building owned by a federal, state, county, municipality, or other local government or political subdivision, with intent to do bodily harm to any person or with intent to do damage to any of the listed properties, if the threat is sufficient to cause alarm in a reasonable person.
If both bills have this language, and maintain the exception for Self Defense, we can pretty much ignore it as (IMHO/IANAL) will not be of consequence to us.
