And Walgreens is shutting down their most robbed locations in the city.  I am sure they are not the only retailers being attacked and probably many small operators simply have shut down and moved to better locations or retired altogether.

Tell how this city is not heading to a total collapse.

  1. My wife and I rented an Apartment in downtown SF, for several years. Both of the drugstores we use to shop at have been closed because of the high volume of theft. The city is being governed by fools, that the people of SF elected. Welcome to the Jungle.

  2. But if those stores used active security to prevent theft, you’d better believe SF would land on them with both feet.

  3. I’ve often said liberals understand nothing of how the world works.newtons third law applies to more than physics. For every action there’s an equal and opposite reaction. In this case allowing theft, these guys move out.

Wonder what the over under date is when they start moaning about food deserts and under served communities.

    1. Have said it many times. Leftists are children. They have the reasoning skills of a toddler. Examples abound.

The concept of cause leads to effect seems to elude them. Well… more accurately, the concept of cause may lead to more than one possible effect eludes them. They get an idea (let’s stop prosecuting stupid petty crimes, it is filling up the courts, and costing the city millions.) and they refuse to consider that their desired outcome may not be the only possible outcome. “Look, the city justice department saved millions last year. What do you mean, Walgreens has closed all of their stores in the city because they cannot make a profit?” Obviously, they are just being greedy.

Oh, and that is a second trait. When they seen an undesirable effect, they refuse to investigate the root cause of it. They make a snap decision (greedy company), and call it good. Profit is now (or will soon be) outlawed in San Fran because greedy companies are putting profit before their communities.

  4. I read that around 40% of the population is planning to move out. That will leave the 60% that’s homeless and those stealing everything to resell in other cities.

Total suicide of a major city. I don’t think it has ever happened. I’ve been there twice on business trips – even paid for my wife to come with me on the last one, 25 years ago. I’m glad we got to see it before it collapsed.

Of course, the downside is those 40% that are moving probably voted the morons in.

  5. Huh, who would have ever predicted that legalizing shoplifting would lead to stores closing, restricted shopping, and increased prices?

    But “insurance”…. and ‘racism’… and ‘capitalism’…..

  6. It’s just the peaceful neighborhood folks getting their just reparations for whatever thing “The Man” did to them in the (distant) past.😠

  7. The craziest part is that the maniacs that passed all these laws and policies keep getting re-elected.

As a psychiatrist friend of mine used to comment when discussing behavior that wasn’t helpful but kept continuing: “it must be doing something for you…”

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
