We (Magpul) yelled at our lobbyists to kill it. NSSF was trying to kill it. NRA was trying to kill it. But…Trump apparently dislikes two things in the firearms world: bumpfire stocks and elephant hunting, for reasons that are his own. So a veto was not happening. So…what’s your play? You can say “No bans, not one inch” and send out a fundraising email, and everyone would feel good about the NRA position, but the ban would have passed, and the Dems would potentially have everything they needed for a semi-auto ban already in law, ready to be interpreted nefariously

Sick of the NRA? Read this.

I am sharing this post because the author went in to do actually warfare and found out the reality of how the baloney is made. I have said since day one I am not a writer but a pamphleteer,  so maybe I am not coming across the right way and this article will clear things for you. Please, click on the link and read the article.

Repealing the NFA, as much as I want that to die, has about 5% support in Congress right now. You’re not getting that legislatively unless you change out 95% of Congress, no matter how hard we could push for it, or how many “strong statements” anyone makes.

I want to once again repeat that we cannot hold ourselves hostages to NFA. If you measure the value of the NRA because of your ability to bet a MP-5 for $300 at your local Gun Show, you are setting you and everybody else for failure.

It is up to you.

  1. To retool the Babylon 5 intro for this purpose, I view the NRA the same way as I view America, as the ‘last, best hope for humanity’. Because if we lose our freedom, if America is knocked off the top of the heap or is somehow decimated / balkanized, the likely takeover of the world is going to be by Socialists. And you know those shits have no interest in trying to get off this planet, their only desire is increasing amounts of control over a ‘manageable’ amount of persons.

There is value in absolute resistance. There is more value in intelligent resistance.

  2. I guess I’m still lost on how a “worse” bill would have gotten a floor vote when the GOP controlled both houses of congress and the presidency. Invoke the Hastert rule and don’t schedule it.

The only thing this shows is that the NRA doesn’t have NEARLY the influence that anyone likes to think—and after reading that article it’s clear that the current lobbyists cannot clearly articulate why red-flag laws and universal background checks go against principles like due process. It’s also clear that the NRA is giving out ratings based on who can win and not who is actually pro gun.

  3. 2 things I would like to see concerning NFA- take surpressors OFF the list and repeal the 1986 ban on new manufacturing of full auto stuff. The prices would come down and everyone could enjoy realatively quiet shooting. Lifting the ban would allow those who want to could get into a full auto toy. YES they smoke thru ammo but everyone luvs playin with them.
NRA? We need to boost membership. All other GOOD gun rights groups we need to boost membership
Come on guys JOIN 1!!! 300 million guns and less than 10 million belong to gun rights groups
