Who or what is a Brian Laundrie? Is this a sportsball reference?
I don’t get it.

Explanation, since I sent this to J.Kb – Brian Laundrie is suspected of killing his fiance, Gabby Petito. Her body was found in a national park in Wyoming. There was a massive manhunt for Brian Laundrie, who authorities suspected was hiding out on the AT. His remains and belongings were found on a gator preserve in FL.
Interesting… But it raises the further question: who the heck is Gabby Petito?
(Sadly, I vaguely know the answer to this one as her name and photograph keeps popping up on the covers of newspapers I don’t read.)
