My daughter in law was a part of a silent drill team in DC when she was in. They did the throwing, spinning, etc. of Garands – with bayonets fixed. Yikes!
Impressive indeed. Are the bayonets blunted? My guess would be that Marines wouldn’t do that…
I wanted to be in the silent drill team. I got told my 5’8″ ass was too short. All drill team members are between 5’11” And 6’2″.
And yes, those bayonets are sharp. I watched a special about them. The amount of training they put in is amazing. The amount of broken Garand stocks is enough to make a grown man cry.
