I read the WSJ, and they have a once in a while glossy magazine that comes with the weekend issue. It’s clearly aimed at rich Manhattan dwellers, full of ads for Gucci and Burberry and various expensive watches. Also lots of fashion model photos. Two things stand out: they always look annoyed (I think smiling is not allowed). And all the men, and most of the women, look like the photo you showed. So no, this isn’t really a Europe thing, it’s what the fashion industry expects from its models in general.
Did you get a load of the codpieces on these guys, like lets call attention to my genitals for my gay friends.
