Head of Army public affairs suspended following damning office climate survey

The U.S. Army’s top spokeswoman has been suspended from her position pending an investigation.

Brig. Gen. Amy E. Johnston, who assumed the duties of chief of public affairs in April 2019, was “suspended and placed on special duty pending the outcome of an Army investigation,” Army spokeswoman Cynthia Smith said in a statement to the Washington Examiner on Thursday.

Ninety-seven percent of the survey respondents reported “workplace hostility,” while only 8% of the soldier and civilian employees said they experience “high” levels of morale, while just over a quarter, 26%, said they experience moderate morale. The survey, parts of which were obtained by the Military Times, also noted that factors such as being overworked, having an imbalanced work-home dynamic, and ambiguous product expectations, all contributed to those sentiments.

Additionally, 21% of respondents said sexual harassment was present in the office, while 26% said the same about racial harassment.

More than one fifth experienced sexual harassment, one quarter experienced racial harassment, and nearly everyone experienced some sort of toxic work place harassment.

Damn… what sort of shit show was she running?

Johnston holds a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences from Ohio State University and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. She holds Master’s Degrees in Communications and National Resource Strategy from American University and the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.

Fantastic, another general with a liberal arts degree and no warfighter experience.

Are there any generals in our military that still hold fast to principles like duty and honor or are they all just bureautrash?

‘Those people will pay’ – Biden vows action for border patrol agents’ treatment of Haitian migrants

President Joe Biden on Friday vowed to take action against border patrol agents on horseback whose actions in Del Rio, Texas drew widespread outrage.

“It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay. They will be investigated. There will be consequences,” Biden said in response to a reporter’s question at the White House.

There were no whips.  Haitians were not beaten or run down with horses.

Border Patrol was trying to detain people who were actively breaking the law by crossing the border.

Biden says there will be an investigation and consequences.

No investigation and consequences for the people who bumblefucked Afghanistan, or wiped out a family with seven kids with a drone strike based on Taliban provided intel, or caused there to be 15,000 illegal immigrants living under a bridge on Texas, or any of the other clusterfucks we’ve seen.

Nope, no accountability for them but law enforcement officers on the ground are going to get their assholes reamed by the DOJ for enforcing the law.

Thirteen people were shot, two are dead in what Police Chief Dale Lane called “the most horrific event that’s occurred in Collierville history.”

One of the two dead is the shooter, who was found at the back of the store killed by what officials believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Lane said.

According to other media sources, the shooter was a disgruntled employee. Nothing yet on why was he disgruntled or if he had mental conditions and if he gave enough hints for what he was about to do.

It is said that the mind is the weapon. But the quote above shows that the mind is the weapon which produced a self-inflicted wound.

Carrying a weapon requires discipline with rule #1 being Always Carry. I don’t know where or when a criminal or a psycho is going attack, so I have to be ready to reply with deadly force at a fraction of a second’s time. And maybe your reflexes are peak and you are in optimal physical condition, but handgun will beat empty hand 99 times out of a hundred.

And I understand that carrying can be a nuisance and a bother. Your employee may not allow it or your stylish clothing is not conductive to wearing a gun safely and constantly. You are an adult and you must own to the consequences of your choices, specially where we are living in an age where we have such a variety of handguns, they can cover pretty much any kind of garment situation in a comforting manner.   Life does not end if you cannot carry a full size 1911, sometimes a simple .380 can be the patch for a particular moment.

We must not only not think “I never thought this could happen here/to me” but also prep as if it would happen in the next 30 seconds. We are the people who think about fields of fire, cover and backstops if we are attacked while taking a poop while sitting in the throne. It ain’t Low Drag or Tactical Ninja cool, but neither is reality.

Always Carry. Always have a plan. Always be ready to take action.
