So had a little health scare…

Tuesday morning, I was not feeling well. There was a little discomfort in my chest that I have associated in the past with my usual  GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) but this time I also felt something unspecific my left arm and that was a bit weird. That was not a nice combo of signals and I am heard way too many times the “It did not think it was a heart attack” only to be proven wrong later on by a lights and sirens trip to the ER or a silent one to the morgue.

So I chewed on an aspirin was taken to the ER by the not-very-happy missus and placed myself in the hands of the medical community. That is something that scares me somewhat, but what can be done?

Good news: After one full day of tests and going through imagining devices plus an overnight of observation with a bunch of cables attached to what looked like a first generation Walkman, I was pronounced clear from my initial fears. Cardiac enzymes indicated no heart attack,  and cat scans with iodine crap also failed to find anything of importance and so did the echo sonogram.

Basically I ended up having what will be billed a very expensive Cardiology check up. Don’t mind me much, I am very much happy I will still remain among all of you and bothering you on a regular basis.

There will be an upcoming mask at the hospital post, you better believe that.

What a trans homicide in Georgia really means

My news feed exploded yesterday with the news of the murder over the weekend of Felycya Harris.

Harris is a black trans woman shot dead in a black neighborhood in Augusta, Georgia.

The common talking point in yesterday’s news was, as CBS News reported:

Transgender woman’s killing in Georgia marks “grim milestone”

Officials in eastern Georgia are searching for a suspect after a Black transgender woman was found shot dead in an Augusta park on Saturday. According to the Human Rights Campaign, 33-year-old Felycya Harris is the 31st transgender or gender non-conforming person to be a victim of fatal violence in 2020, which is now the deadliest year for the trans community since the advocacy group began tracking the killings in 2013.

HRC says transgender people are at heightened risk for fatal violence, especially transgender women of color because of a “a toxic mix of transphobia, racism and misogyny.”

“With news of the death of Felycya Harris, we have hit a grim milestone: We have now matched the highest number of transgender or gender non-conforming people who were victims of fatal violence in one year — and there are three more months left in the year,” HRC President Alphonso David said in a statement. “This epidemic of violence, which is particularly impacting transgender women of color, must and can be stopped.”

There has been no evidence indicating that Harris’s murder was motivated by her status as a trans woman.

A 2020 current total of 31 homicides in 10 months is three per month.  Is this really an epidemic?  Harris is a black man under the age of 40.  The city of Chicago saw 79 black men under the age of 40 shot dead last month.

Let me be a blunt asshole about this.

Homicides in every Democrat-run city are up, way up, ChicagoNew York City,  and even Agusta, Georgia.

The anti-police zeitgeist, people going stir-crazy because of the lockdowns, a number of factors are driving this.

It is highly likely that Harris is just another victim of local crime and not the victim of an anti-trans hate crime.

But the most important aspect of this story to note is this:

If Harris was killed by a cop, there would be riots.  Because Harris was gender non-conforming, the activist Left is using her to push a victim narrative about a transphobic society.

But if Harris looked like what he was, a young black man shot to death in a street crime in a Democrat-run city, the Left wouldn’t even know his name to give a fuck about him.

Unless the Left can turn a young black man into some sort of martyr for a cause, they consider young black men to be entirely disposable.

Missouri grand jury just nullified self defense against the mob

From KMOV4:

McCloskeys indicted, grand jury adds charges of tampering with evidence

A grand jury indicted Mark and Patricia McCloskey Tuesday on charges of exhibiting guns at protesters in a June incident in their neighborhood and added a charge of tampering with evidence for both members of the couple.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey had previously been charged with felony counts of exhibiting weapons–for pointing guns at protestors outside their central west end home. They have long maintained they were protecting themselves and their property from people hurling threats.

The grand jury also added a count for each of them: of tampering. This, News 4 learned, stems from the pistol held by Patricia McCloskey and later turned over to police by attorney Al Watkins.

That gun, Watkins said, had been rendered inoperable but a report obtained by News 4 from the St Louis Police Crime Lab showed that a prosecutor had instructed the examiners to re-assemble it correctly.

Missouri Statues:

Title XXXVIII – Crimes and Punishment; Peace Officers and Public Defenders
Chapter 571 – Weapons Offenses
Section 571.030 Unlawful use of weapons — exceptions — penalties.
Universal Citation: MO Rev Stat § 571.030 (2019)

*571.030. Unlawful use of weapons — exceptions — penalties. — 1. A person commits the offense of unlawful use of weapons, except as otherwise provided by sections 571.101 to 571.121, if he or she knowingly:

(4) Exhibits, in the presence of one or more persons, any weapon readily capable of lethal use in an angry or threatening manner; or

(5) Has a firearm or projectile weapon readily capable of lethal use on his or her person, while he or she is intoxicated, and handles or otherwise uses such firearm or projectile weapon in either a negligent or unlawful manner or discharges such firearm or projectile weapon unless acting in self-defense

5. Subdivisions (3), (4), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9), and (10) of subsection 1 of this section shall not apply to persons who are engaged in a lawful act of defense pursuant to section 563.031.

IANAL, but it seems pretty cut and dry that what they were charged with doesn’t apply if they were engaged in lawful self-defense.

This means that the grand jury was convinced that the McCloskeys were not engaged in legal self-defense when a mob broke down the gate to their property and marched across their private front walk shouting threats.

The defense was not allowed to make arguments before the grand jury, so I doubt the partisan, Soros funded, hack prosecutor explained this, so I really hope that this is either dismissed by the judge or they are found not guilty at trial.

Armed resistance to the mob must be recognized as self-defense.   Blocking that has been the Democrat’s position since Reconstruction when they sent mobs of white supremacists to yards of free blacks.  They prohibited armed self-defense against the mob then and now they are trying to stop armed self-defense against the current crop of violent racist mobbing Democrats.

The Silicon Graybeard – The Misguided Movement For The $15 Minimum Wage Hits Florida

I know I’ve said before that I’m really sick and tired of this subject.  I always say the law is going to hurt the very people it’s supposed to help, but the stupid laws pass and the predicted bad things happen.  A few years later, they say the fix is to repeat it with a different number for min wage.  It’s like watching an imbecile sticking a metal fork in the wall outlet over and over.

The Silicon Graybeard – The Misguided Movement For The $15 Minimum Wage Hits Florida

I wanted to talk about this, but he beat me to the punch and makes all the sense in the world. Yes, in every case it has been implemented, it has become a crap show of gigantic proportions and the people that was supposed to help ended up with a $0 an hour income as in no jobs. That should be a grim reminder that the left is unencumbered by failure to provide with results but just want to achieve political victories and acquire power over you

The Jewish Uprising of 2020

The orthodox Jews of New York are very not happy with being targeted by Governor Cuomo on top of Mayor de Blasio.

Some piece of shit decided to try and use the internet hate mob to go after the Orthodox by taking pictures of them at Synagogue not masked.

Mayor de Blasio announced today, that houses of worship that continue to have mass gatherings will be fined $15,000 per day.

Why is that a big deal?  It is the middle of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

This is like Jewish Thanksgiving and Jewish Oktoberfest rolled into one.  It is known as the Feast of Tabernacles and is a harvest holiday.  It also celebrates the Exodus from Egypt.  The last day of Sukkot is Simchat Torah, where Jews are commanded to Drink in celebration.  It’s notable as being one of the major Jewish holidays that is actually fun and now a dower time of reflecting on once again avoiding slavery and extermination.

So as the Jews of New York City are enjoying Sukkot and approach Simchat Torah, the Governor targets them for having the Synagogues locked down and the Mayor threatens to fine them $15,000 a day.

There was a protest.

Note the total lack of looting and smashing of windows.

It was, by every measure, an actually peaceful protest.

Which means the Governor had no tolerance for it.

If you want to know why Cuomo and de Blasio feel it is absolutely necessary to go after the Orthodox Jewish community for celebrating Sukkot while hamstringing the NYPD’s ability to tackle BLM protesters, just look at the video below.

One Jewish community leader said this:

If the Orthodox wanted to roll up on Gracie Mansion with some Merkavas, I’d totally support that.

The NBA is going to try to unring the woke bell

Sports Illustrated reported that the NBA finals games 2 and 3 had the lowest recorded viewership in history.

Observer stated, “NBA Finals Ratings Tank to Historic Lows in Upended Pandemic Season.”

So it probably makes sense why NBA commissioner Adam Silver said this during an interview:

Rachel Nichols: The NBA has certainly been the most visible billion-dollar organization championing social justice and civil rights. As you noted in your press conference the other day, though, that has not been universally popular. How committed are you to being that going forward?

Adam Silver: We’re completely committed to standing for social justice and racial equality and that’s been the case going back decades. It’s part of the DNA of this league. How it gets manifested is something we’re gonna have to sit down with the players and discuss for next season. I would say, in terms of the messages you see on the court and our jerseys, this was an extraordinary moment in time when we began these discussions with the players and what we all lived through this summer. My sense is there’ll be somewhat a return to normalcy, that those messages will largely be left to be delivered off the floor.

And I understand those people who are saying ‘I’m on your side, but I want to watch a basketball game.’

I guess it’s all fun and games until you look at historic low viewership and empty arenas and realized just how much money you lost.

So the NBA is going to try to unring the woke bell and save themselves from going broke.

I wonder how well that will work if the players will accept that or not?

Can the NBA recover its viewership or has the sport killed itself as a multibillion-dollar enterprise?

I don’t know, but all I can say is “fuck em.”
