Random Friday Stuff.

I’ve been doing some work around the house and even playing with cement so I haven’t been paying attention much to the gun wires. You get some random thoughts that crossed my mind. You have been warned.

1) I admire the craftsmanship and the originality, but you know some schmuck is gonna try and open it.
2) To go with my new nonchalant shooting and celebrate that I am not dealing with club responsibilities, I want to make this design my official shooting logo. Screw it, let others pick up the crap.
3) I thought that the Bronies thing was a joke with a long expiration date like Obama’s canine culinary preferences. Apparently I was mistaken.

4) More books incoming: “Trail Safe” by Michael Bane. “The Glorious Cause” by Robert Middlekauff and “What Hath God Wrought: The Transformation of America, 1815–1848” by Daniel Walker Howe. I owe you a couple of reviews but just go ahead and buy Horse Soldiers, amazing book about amazing people.

5)
Q: What’s the similarity between a drummer and a philosopher?
A: They both perceive time as an abstract concept.

6) I just saw three vultures circling nearby. I am getting the shotgun just in case.

7) Contrary to what some experts say, I do believe in a warning shoot in the air….. of the lungs. Critters get the warning pretty fast then.

8) Er…. I forgot…. never mind. See you guys later.

Travon Martin “inspired” law in Louisiana goes down in flames.

Senate panel votes down self-defense bill SB719 that tried to confuse already clear law in Louisiana.

Legislation inspired by Florida’s Trayvon Martin case failed in a Senate committee Tuesday amid concerns that it would cloud state law

First, the case of Martin/Zimmerman is not yet finalized so what we have here is a clear case of “fixin’ what ain’t broken.” But what is more interesting is that the person introducing the bill, Sen. Yvonne Dorsey-Colomb refused to clarify its language even though everybody told her that it made a hash out of the current law. If one was to be suspicious, we could say that muddying the current law was the original intention in the hopes of coming back later and strike Stand Your Ground out of the books.

Then again it could be just plain stupidity in Ms. Dorsey-Colomb’s part. We are talking politicians here.

The Real War Against Women waged by the Coalition To Stop Gun Violence.

Days of our Trailers: @CSGV Defends Spousal Abuse.

Paraphrasing Wayne LaPierre: They are willing to certain amount of killing if it advances their cause. And Spousal Abuse is perfect for them: If the man shots the wife, the reason is the gun, not the abusive behavior of the husband. If the abused woman defends herself, she had other choices, but the availability of guns and the “culture of killing promoted by the NRA” is to blame.

They get double the blood for the same tap dancing. Vlad Tepes was not this bloodthirsty.

Book for you to consider: Black’s Law.

It is good to know that Florida has traditions, one of them is Human Sacrifice by Media Pressure and Court Of Law. Yesterday I re-read Black’s Law by Roy Black and specifically the Alvarez case a Miami Police Officer who was basically steamrolled in order to calm down racial tensions.

If you read the book and specially the Alvarez case, you will see names that are still making noise today and in one case, the concept of human sacrifice is not an exaggeration on my part and the lessons were learned and put to work by a top government official in this administration.
