From Los Angeles:

I get it, I do.  You don’t want people smoking drugs in front of your kids.

But drug addicted vagrants are not nice people.

This is a job for police.

And, I get that too.  This is LA.  You call the cops for something like this and they won’t show up.

You can’t assume other people to be reasonable and neighborly when they are in the middle of flagrantly breaking several laws.

Yes, the situation sucks and it makes you feel impotent to not be able to do anything, but that’s better than getting stabbed.

  1. Even if you know the police won’t respond to your 911 call, you still call. If possible, you want it on record that you attempted that step, and that you tried to walk away, before you do whatever you have to do.

But getting out of that situation is the #1 priority. Not just for you, but for your kids, too. Who’s going to take care of them if you’re bleeding out from a junkie’s stab wound?

  2. Was there supposed to be some video or other graphic there? All I see is a blank area, and “inspect” indicates there’s actually nothing there in the HTML received from the server.
