L.A. Sheriff: Inmate release effective, but possible surge in crime ahead

California really does prefer criminals to law-abiding citizens.  They worried more about criminals getting a Virus than they do about citizens getting hurt by recidivist offenders.

The Sheriff can say they’ve increased patrols for now, but how long until deputies come down with the virus or the Blue Flu?

Besides, it seem like the Sheriff’s Office is putting more effort into arresting people paddle boarding or jogging on the beach in defiance of Governor Newsom’s order than fighting actual crime, given how many deputies we saw in those videos versus the number of videos we’ve seen of people in California shoplifting and not getting arrested.

The lesson here is, if you are a woman and some sexual predator let out of jail tried to attack you, run to the nearest beach and start doing outdoor yoga.  You may end up in handcuffs but at least law enforcement will respond to you.

  1. “L.A. Sheriff: Inmate release effective, but possible surge in crime ahead”

He wins the “Duh! Captain Obvious” award of the week.

  2. Sheriff Chad Chronister in Tampa has already had that He released a man with 35 arrests and the next day the man murdered someone Byee Chad at next election (oh BTW he also voted for Curfew)

  3. “Some” may not appear for their court date? Try about 90%. Oh, by the way, they don’t have jobs and can’t get jobs but the stores are closed and no one is around. No problem there. At least they can’t buy guns and ammo. This is going to make the Rodney King Riots look like a Saturday night bar fight.

  4. What I don’t get is how letting them out of prison reduces the chance of them getting the virus. They’re in fricking prison with no exposure to the outside world. How much more “social isolation” can there be?

Just where is the virus coming from? Only law enforcement (guards and such) get within 6′ of them. Why not leave them in prison and have the guards wear N95 masks and face shields?

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
