When visitors show up next month for Wynwood’s monthly “Art Walk,” they’ll find a newcomer to the chic street scene: Lock & Load Miami, a slate-gray and bright-orange big-box shooting range — where, for $575, a customer can pull the trigger on Uzis, machine guns and other exotic firearms similar to those used by SWAT and special-ops teams.

We know that Full Auto firearms are not for those with tight budgets but this range apparently is aiming at the Brie and Wine crowds that spend a lot of time watching paint splatters on a canvas going “Hmmm” and have enough disposable income.

If it makes them happy and the owner makes money, good luck and have fun.

  1. Ha. When was the last time you were in Wynwood…if ever? Some of their residents are going to love the chance to exercise their equipment locally.

  2. Gee, that’s a steep entry price. On a biz trip to Salt Lake City a couple of years ago, I got a free day and went to a range that had all sorts of full auto toys. The package deal I took was about $200 and included a couple of magazines in an FN P90, an Uzi, an HK MP5 and a MAC 11.

It’s a ton of fun. I hope they make a dumpster full of money and the visitors all walk away with that smile that takes an hour to wipe off your face.
