Or simply place some Gun Free Zone signs around your property, that should work. Anyway, it is not like we are unaware that police has no duty to protect, but these budget fights do give criminals the idea that they may act with impunity, a dangerous proposition.
At least they are smart enough not to raise property taxes. Last guy who tried that got referendum-ed out of office.
We all know that this is just political posturing. And even if they cut X number of cops it generally doesn’t mean what they claim. “THE SKY IS FALLING” doesn’t fly with the public anymore.
But it IS interesting to see a crack in the “you can’t protect yourself, we are here to do it for you.” meme. Hopefully that will send a the same message to the bad guys down there that it sent to the rapists in Orlando in the 80s when the cops publicly announced that they would start teaching women how to shoot and protect themselves with guns. 80% drop in attempted rapes.
It always amazes me that “administrtive” positions – or at least the bodies filling them – ar the ones to be saved even if it means “shifting” to patrol activities. Just once I would like to see the former front-office pouges chase a BG for 3 blocks, tackle them, roll around in the street for several minutes, and end up slapping the cuffs on the perp.
In the same vein, I wonder if the unions’ “no concessions” stance is coming from the rank and file.

cops in dade county are a joke. had some female cop yesterday come here that must have thought she had some bulls. she definitely needs some attitude adjustment.
