Only because the government stood behind actually DOING things… And the inventions from those days benefit us still!
14 years and 3 days before I was born, the greatest generation made the greatest nation make the greatest achievement in human history. 3 days short of 31 years after my birth, the generation that followed apologized for our greatness, squandered its inheritance, and achieved reducing the greatest nation to the greatest debtor in human history.
