Today my social media feeds have seen a bumper crop of people reacting at the headlines. From demanding that POTUS or the VP order the Secret Service to drop the No Guns restriction to some even saying that Trump and/or Pence shouldn’t be attending because the Secret Service Requirement. I have a response for that:

Stop it. You are trying to fix shit because we got a crappy headline from a group of people who will die first than give us a good headline.  OK, allow me to correct that last part:   from a group of people who will rather see us die first than give us a good headline.

Will the Secret Service reverse its requirements? No. So why bother? Now, imagine for a second that somehow the NRA “stands firm” and demands that people can carry around POTUS and VP.

Headline AP/WP/NTY/MSNBC/ETC:
NRA WANTS PRESIDENT DEAD. DEMANDS THAT SECRET SERVICE PROTECTION BE ELIMINATED.
DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP IN CONGRESS DEMANDS APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL TO  INVESTIGATION.

And no, you are not complaining/reacting because of ideology. Two days ago you weren’t even thinking about this issue and the last time you gave a shit was probably also the last time a headline like the one above was published  prior to an NRA AM.

Stop trying to kiss the Media’s ass expecting a favorable story.

  1. What we need to do is punch back; Point out that those Parkland students are either dumb or lying. Either they haven’t heard of 18 USC 922 (q) or they are intentionally refusing to acknowledge it.

  2. “No, the Secret Service said guns will be banned during the Pence speech, NRA was only the messenger. Also guns are usually banned at the event centers these things are held at. I had to run back to the car just before going into the Boulder event center two weeks ago to drop off a couple of KNIVES that I had almost forgotten I even had on me. The NRA has no say in this sort of thing.”

Broadcast the correct message, and do it in a way that makes the news media (and Junior Goebbels and co.) look like the liars they are. They’re already a laughing stock, kick them while they’re down.

I mean, wow, the NRA are so powerful that they can’t even overrule the policies of organizations and facilities that they hold their events in. Clearly they’ve got their back pocket in every politician in the nation, right?

  3. When these “Parkland students” become productive & contributing members of our society instead of attention-whores and money-leeches, THEN I might pay some attention to their ramblings. Until then, STFU.

Right. Rick Scott is going to lose his Senate bid because he abandoned his base and pandered to people who won’t vote for him regardless. There’s no need for us to waste our resources doing the same thing with the MSM.

No, I agree with AnOregonian and clockworkgremlin: our best move is to (continue to) present the facts and current laws in such a way that it makes the MSM (and the anti-gun Parkland kids) look like the petty, childish, ignorant fools they are.

And then kick them while they’re down. The best way to do that is to go through their archives covering past NRA AMs. As Miguel said, they do this every year, and get presented with the facts every year, and yet here we are again. Call attention to that — they’re not merely petty, childish, ignorant fools; they’re deliberately and vindictively so.

“When someone who is honestly mistaken is corrected, one of two things will happen: they will either cease to be mistaken, or cease to be honest.” We’re well beyond when they should have ceased to be mistaken. The only alternative is that they have ceased to be honest, and rightly deserve to be called to the carpet from every direction.

  5. I called KBH Convention Center to be sure. Their standing policy allows licensed concealed carriers into the facility in compliance with Texas laws. The SS determines the secure area consistent with THEIR policies and they have yet to determine what that area will be. It ‘might’ be the entire facility but probably not likely. If worst comes to worst, I’ll do like clockworkgremlin had to do.
As to the parkland punks, they will continue to rabble rouse until such time as they are allowed to continue to do so.
