Jamie Lee Curtis first steps in Hollywood were not acting but actually sound effects: Her screams. She was indeed the scream queen and many horror movies in the 80s benefited from her lung power. IIRC, she is the screams you hear in Brian De Palma’s Blow Out when Nancy Allen is being murdered. The end of that movie always gives me chills, pure De Palma mindf**k. So, her moniker as Scream Queen allegedly comes from that.
Anyway, she has always been one of my favorite actresses.
