I figured once the vaccine started to roll, they would have issues with people trying to get back to a semblance of normal sans mask and restrictions. And of course, the Powers That Be cannot allow that to happen because having over 300 million people dancing by strings is too much power to relinquish.
Politically, COVID-19 will be an incurable disease that will force us to change our ways forever and we must follow without question the directives given to us from D.C. or suffer the consequences. After all, you really don’t want to kill Grandma with your irresponsible behaviors such as going to a restaurant or getting a haircut or just walk around without a mask, do you?

Have been having a back and forth with an Assembly member over mandated lockdowns and the emergency declaration. They continue to dismiss any info I share because “the medical professionals.” I remind them that I do not have to be a medical professional to examine publicly available data and conclude that lockdowns and mask mandates do not show any measurable results over asking the public to voluntarily take the same measures. (crickets…)
Petty tyrants need an excuse to be petty tyrants. Medical science is not well understood by the average layman. So pointing to the “medical experts” and saying you are following their recommendations is a get out of jail free card for any number of government overreaches. Don’t want to hear the pushback from the public at your assembly meetings? Claim the medical experts say allowing the public in is unsafe. See… Easy.
People can get their heads around another country invading, a weather event, or a blackout. They cannot grasp a pandemic. That very word inspires panic.
