So many people have fled NYC it’s suspected that NY will lose at least one district.

Rumor is, if that happens it was be AOC who gets the axe.  She’s been a thorn in Pelosi’s side.

Then this comes out.

New York Democratic Party Chief Warns Ocasio-Cortez Not to Challenge Schumer

I guess AOC has caught wind of the rumor and thinks she can stay in power by taking over Schumer’s seat.

An AOC/Squad vs Chuck/Nancy civil war is gonna be fun.

I bet hard cash that is Teddy Kennedy was still alive, Pelosi would have him drive her to DNC functions himself.

  1. She stands no chance of dethroning Schumer. Too many Democrats here love Chuck and she’s still too far left, even for NY, to beat him in a primary. Remember that actress Cynthia Nixon primaried Cuomo on a platform with similar moonbat demands to what AOC might put out and she got crushed.

Now if Schumer were to retire, then I might be concerned. People in this state are so heavily indoctrinated that the NY GOP could put up a moderate RINO for a senate run against AOC and people here would vote for her regardless because she is a Democrat, and Republicans are bad.

  2. New York’s 14th congressional district is both very new (in its present configuration) and very small. It’s present shape and demographics only came about as a result of 2013 redistricting, which gerrymandered the Democrats an ~700,000 person district that is somehow 50% Hispanic in a city with a mere 25% Hispanic population. The district is also weighted between D+28 to D+30 by every reputable polling firm.

Despite all these advantages and her GOP opponent being little more than a sacrificial lamb offered up so that the GOP would have someone on the ballot, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez won her first election with a mere 110,318 votes or 78% of all votes cast. In 2020, she won re-election with 152,661 votes. However, turnout was much higher so this was only 71% of the vote.

In her time in Congress, she’s sponsored a total of twenty-three bills (two of which were non-binding resolutions and not actually laws). Not a single one of them has made it out of committee… Hell, none of them have even made it to the point where they’ve been voted on in committee. For all the noise she makes on social media and as a talking head on the teevee, she’s gotten absolutely nothing done in Congress.

President William Henry Harrison has a better legislative history and he spent most of his thrifty-two days in office lying on his deathbed with terminal pneumonia.

She’s unpopular in her own district, not well-liked by her Democratic colleagues, distrusted by her party leadership, and has burned so many bipartisan bridges that no one on the opposite side of the aisle would even piss on her if she was on fire.

But, don’t fret, she’ll probably be okay with her seven figure book deal and MSNBC show.

  3. One thing I do give A0C credit for is calling for primary challengers for established politicians. Too many people like Pelosi and Schumer go unchallenged in the primaries, even though there is a good chance their constituents would like to see a change. (Seriously, San Fran? Is there anyone that thinks Pelosi is doing a good job?)

NYers might not re-elect schumer if there was another Democrat on the ticket that closer aligned with the bulk of Dems. Anectdotally, most of the liberals I know do not support what the Democrat party has become, but support the Republicans even less. So, the glass of water with (D) following its name gets elected.

    1. She’s too stupid not to holler for primaries. Democrats destroy anyone not on board. They’d crush her. Ruin her. She’d be lucky to be back at the bar.

  4. If they do lose a district, do you honestly believe it will be a ‘D’ one that gets the axe? No, they’ll twist the lines to combine two R leaning areas.

    1. Do you really believe there’s a dime’s worth of different between an upstate New York (R) and a (D)?

Ocasio-Cortez lacks the seniority to defend herself and is a problem child for the Establishment. The Schumer’s and Pelosi’s of the DCCC know how to play nice with the upstate RINOs.

      1. There are actually plenty of really good conservative Republicans in upstate, but because of “the city”, they are drowned out and the only Republicans who stand any chance for a statewide seat are the RINOs.

    2. Between one upstate Republican and a Democrat who causes Pelosi trouble, that’s not a hard choice.

They fought harder to axe Bernie than the did to axe Trump.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
