Just got back from WallyWorld doing ammo hunt, specifically for 22 LR for SWMBO. I was lucky since they just had finished putting in the shelves the ammo they just got from the regular shipments.
Six solitary boxes of Tula 7.6sx39.
That was the whole shipment. Six boxes. At least I have a boomstick that eats that particular ammo so I asked for the six boxes…..nope, I could only buy three and at $5.16 per box which is double what I paid the last time I bought per box.
And on my way back to my vehicle (with barely two magazines worth of ammo) I heard the following exchange between a Mom and her 8-9 year old son in the parking lot:
Mom: “Stop acting up or you’ll get it!”
Son: “You hit me and I’ll press charges.”
God is wise. He did not see fit to bless us with kids…. mostly because if a kid of mine would have said something like that to me or his Mom, I would waterboard his sorry ass with kerosene.
I tried that once when I was that age (less then 20 years ago) I told my mom if she spanked me I’d call child services. Her response was, “Go ahead, by the time they get here you’ll need them”. I rather quickly (as in about 2 seconds after she said that) decided my best interests lay in listening to her.
“Here, let me get you the phone. But I know it will take them ten minutes to get here. In that time…

A quick smack in the mouth is what that kid needs. An era of entitlement, and discipline takes on the spirit of Neville Chamberlain.
I was mouthy, my parents were quick with the plastic hangar moving quickly due to a flick of a wrist.
Funny comments about kids, I don’t have any but used to take care of my sisters kids when I was in her town, one time at a store I backhanded the oldest for doing stupid stuff and then telling me to f off. I don’t take that, well some lady saw it and told me she was going to call CPS on me. I said go ahead, and she pulled out her phone. Then I mentioned I don’t care since they weren’t my kids. The look on her face was priceless…
Guy used to work with was given the “If you spank me I’ll call the cops!” line; reply was “You’ll have a hard time using the phone with it stuck up your ass.” End of problem.
Friend’s 8yoa stepson was really acting up one time, and I advised him “Do that again and I’m going to kick your skinny ass up between your shoulder blades.” Looked at me, “You wouldn’t do that.”
I leaned over him and said quietly “Ask my kids.” The look was priceless. And he was quite well-behaved the rest of the day.
