We no longer pack as if we are going on a leisure trip but to face Doomsday.  Between “We may need this…” and “What if …?” I am gonna overload the truck. I think I have spent more time paring down the pile of stuff that I initially collected than actually packing what I may really need.

And still to come: Where everything goes in the vehicle. What gets the priority: Iced water and munchies of truck rifle and reloads?

PS: Locate center of gravity of vehicle….ammo goes there. 😀
PS: I was actually forgetting the First Aid kit <sigh>

  1. I’ve been rolling around like my commute to work is a trip through the green zone since the start of the riots last year.

I fear for and am prepared for the day the wife calls me saying “there are protesters outside and I’m scared to leave the building, come get me.”

A lot of people that I know are equally well equipped.

    1. There was some kind of BLM riot in North Carolina a few years back and they set fire to a couple of 18 wheelers. I upgraded my “keep it in the car” gun from a glock to a 16″ AR-10 with an LPVO, because here in Tennessee you can employ deadly force to protect a third party and there’s not a maximum distance limitation 🙂

I switched to 8.5″ 300blk’s in each vehicle because they’re easier to deploy in that kind of situation. My wife rolled her eyes but didn’t object. Then this year when all the excitement started she stopped rolling her eyes.

When the ammo shortage kicked in and I stopped being able to “waste” money on ammo I started buying body armor and gas masks and laser-protective goggles….and….yeah my trunk will get me on the news if I’m ever rear-ended.
