From the New York Post:

Ilhan Omar may pay husband’s political firm over $1M by end of year

Rep. Ilhan Omar is on track to pay the political firm founded by her new husband more than $1 million by the end of the year, campaign finance filings show.

In the first three months of this year, the Minnesota Democrat’s campaign paid the E Street Group $292,000 for advertising, fundraising, travel and other services, according to a federal campaign finance report filed Wednesday and obtained by the Star Tribune.

It’s not illegal to put friends and family on the campaign payroll as long as the cash is for legitimate campaign expenses and paid at fair market value.

She divorced her previous husband to marry a political consultant she paid a quarter-million dollars to, and now they they are married will pay more than a million dollars to, having established the market rate from before they were married.

And according to the laws written by Congress to police Congress…

If you wonder why Congress seems to be filled with the worst people. Just leaking fistulas, discharging from the asshole of this nation, this is why.

Because decent people of good moral character would be repulsed by engaging in this sort of transparently bad behavior.

Politicians have figured out how to legalize it and make Kosher.

Such an institution will guarantee to attract only the worst people.

Spread the love

  1. I’ve never understood why we ,as a nation, allow, for example, a New York bartender get elected to congress and then become a millionaire within a couple of years on a salary of $175,000 per year. Term limits, strict limits on what campaign contributions can be spent on, and a two year ban on accepting any job as a lobbyist or consultant with any company holding a government contract after leaving congress. These may not solve the problem, but it will make life more difficult for the scam artists.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
