FLORENCE, AZ – A high school student in Florence said he has been suspended because of a picture of a gun.

Daniel McClaine Jr., a freshman at Poston Butte High School, said he saved the picture as his desktop background on his school-issued computer

Irrationality, plain and simple.

We know this kind of stupidity in schools is nothing new. Zero tolerance has been possibly the dumbest application of Social Engineering since 1994 and it gives a shinning example of why the Gun Grabbing community will always lose the battle for Gun Control among the Regular Folk. If you cannot differentiate between a picture from a real thing, maybe you are not the best person to tell anybody what might be good for them.

The school district responded after the backlash:

Although we cannot specifically discuss student discipline, we can certainly agree that violence in schools is a sensitive and timely issue. Students, parents and staff are on edge, and the daily news delivers more reasons for caution. All of us must work together to protect our kids and to cultivate an environment that is conducive to learning.
You have to love the contradiction. Responding with an irrational fear to an ethereal image makes people safe and teaches our kids? I bet these imbeciles actually peed in their diapers in abject fear when somebody played peek-a-boo with them as babies.
 

But I’ll take more of these examples as they make our fight easier.

One has to wonder if Mr. Updike even watched the video. Maybe where he lives, having a rally like that is not considered redressing grievances but a terrorist attack.
