Bullitt County History – 1912 School Exam.

This copy of the Eighth Grade Exam for Bullitt County Schools in 1912 was donated to the museum. We thought you might like to see what the test looked like a hundred years ago.

I wonder, how many University professors with a crapload of acronyms after their names would even hit 50%.

OK People, Get Your **** Together and pick ONE.

For over a year, we have been subjected to the “If George Zimmerman had stayed in the truck, nothing would have happened so he is guilty.”  But now we are being treated to this:

CSGV Truck“Tyrone Pierson told police he was walking down South West 3rd Street with two friends when Jacobs drove by in his SUV.  Pierson yelled at Jacobs to slow down and an argument followed. Pierson claims Jacobs got out of the SUV and chased him with a stick.
Police tell us that Jacobs was shot once in the face in a drive way.  Pierson told investigators he was actually running away when he fired that shot and he had no idea where he shot Jacobs.

So the victim did get out of the truck with a possible weapon….but somebody says the magical words Stand Your Ground and poof, he did not do anything wrong. Can the Antis please pick ONE version and stick with it? It is starting to look like they are lying or something! [snicker]

There is probably more to this than the initial reports. I noticed the picture that appeared in the CSGV link and it looked like the standard prison mugshot. And it appears that Julius Jerome Jacobs is not just a “40-year-old community choir director, came after Pierson and two other teens with a large stick following an argument” like the Huffington post made him out to be but somebody who served prison sentences twice for several felonies. This might end up just being a tiff among dopers or dealers but it makes for a good public relations item for some folks.

First Rifle Round to Achive Warp Speed.

I have no words…..

holy crap roundMARYLAND: Today at Aberdeen Proving Ground, a rifle round designed to go faster than the speed of light was successfully tested. Colonel Peter “Pike” Bishop, head of the project explained that the round’s concept was originally conceived by B.L. Swagger, a civilian rifle shooter aficionado and “wildcat” ammunition designer who have managed to create a round that achieved 0.74 Warp (75,000 mph) but the bullets started to disintegrate after that.

Col. Bishop went on to explain that new propellant powders were developed and the bullet was redesigned around a depleted uranium core covered on a copper jacket held together by a titanium mesh and a ceramic tip normally used in the Space Shuttle to withstand the excessive heat of atmospheric re-entry.

Details about reach and power were not released by the Army, but scientist from MIT say that this round can knock off a small mountain from 500 miles away like it was an anthill. Nothing on the type of weapon that shot this particular round was released but experts tend to agree that it would have to be from a big rifle or a small artillery piece.

Indisputable Proof of more Cirque du Soleil Stats from the Gun Control Cultists.

The article “Indisputable Proof: Stricter Gun Laws Save Children’s Lives” was posted in Facebook by one of the Gun Control Cults this morning but I don’t remember which. Initially I was going to ignore it, but since I had a break from getting ready to do some grilling of a piece of dead cow, I gave it a glance…. and started to find issues.

The language of the article is inflammatory and obfuscatory.

First, a look at the problem. American children live in a heavily armed war zone, proven by these extremely troubling statistics:

Apparently Stacie Borrello has never been close to or even seen a war zone in her life. I do love when they get all verbose like that at the beginning of the piece because you know the rest is not going to get any better. The first lot of stats is the usual “comparing apples to meteorites” that we expect to see. But next we are hit with this earth-shattering piece of statistics:

0IndispFirst notice that we have gone from Kids and Teens to Children and Young People (There is a reason) but the numbers suggested (yet not given) were suspicious. Using the Centers For Disease Control Wonder database search engine, I requested all deaths by cancer for 2009 for ages 0 to 19 (To keep it within the Kids and Teens frame) and the number given was 13,678 deaths. If we follow what Ms. Borrello said and double that number, we have that 27,356 Kids and Teens dies in 2009 due to guns and that is pretty much the same number that encompasses every homicide, suicide, legal intervention and accidental deaths for all age groups in the country. And with that load of BS cleared out, I went to do my grilling and then lunch.

When I came back, I detailed the links provided by Ms. Borello and out of the six links provided, four go to Gun Control websites, one to USA Today (well know for his stance against the Second Amendment) and the last one to the Washington Post but this is just a database of personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Basically, Gun Control Activist relying on bad stats from other  Gun Control Activists.

I do want to get back to the difference between Kids and Teens to Children and Young People. Depending where do you seek your info, may it be the CDC, FBI or other agency, they may separate the age data in certain groups: the “0 to 15 years of age and the 16 to 24 years of age” versus the “0 to 19 years of age”. Most stats you’ll see will be divided in the “0 to 15 years of age and the 16 to 24 years of age” which they conveniently parse into Children or Children and Teens because they are counting on you not looking. This will obviously throw a huge distortion on the way the information is perceived as they will hammer the idea of a “Child” but including adults 18-24 in their discourse. Even the graphic accompanying the article adds to the willful deception:

0Indisp1
He does not look like 19-24 years of age, does he?

I am not gonna cover again leading causes of death among age groups, but the point is to see how easy is to manipulate the language by the proper misapplication of terms and a couple of “research” results to provide us with intentionally misguided narrative. When it comes from the Opposition, never take anything a face value and always do your own research.

Not saying that Gun Owners are good for Starbucks…

But numbers do not lie.

Starbucks stockThe date in the oval is Feb 21, 2012 just after the infamous “buycott” brought about by CSGV others gun control groups. The price of the stock was $48.26. A year and a half later and after another barrage of bad publicity (this time by Moms Demand Victims) the price of Starbucks’ stock is $72.80

Either Gun Owners make for good customers or good luck or Gun Control advocates are a helluva lot less that they even dream….or really cheap.

Gun Control Medium can be found in Newtown, Ct.

From the Facebook page of Steve Marmel (apparently somebody important in Hollywood or his own mind) we got this pic:
marmel1No biggie. When you had Gun Control Cultists openly advocating to send you to “re-education” camps, AssholeFest 13 barely breaks a yawn. However, a follower of this particular page came up with this beauty as reply/support for the post:

marmel2Here is the dry rub: Victoria Soto was killed in the Newtown Elementary massacre. So unless this Mea Twosocks has the magical ability to communicate with the dead, we are being treated to the usual gun control load of bovine intestinal displacement.

If their cause is so righteous, why lie?
