I went “Who is Berlin Rosen?” It turned out to be a What. A Public Relations firm based both in NY and DC. So who they work for? I am glad you asked! Among some corporate entities we have  SEIU, MoveOn.org, Greepeace, and Rock the Vote. They just were involved with the election of Bill DeBlasion in NYC and a long list of distinguished electoral clients. And of course, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense.

Valerie Berlin and Jonathan Rosen are the founders  of BerlinRosen and directly tied to the NY State Democratic Party via working under former State Senator Eric Schneidermanand who now is the Attorney General of New York State and take a guess who were involved in his campaign for AG? You got it.

Hiring a NY/DC PR firm is not cheap, I don’t care if they see eye to eye on political stuff. They talk the talk, but at the end of the day, cash is king and they demand it.

I am going to keep researching this little thread. Who know what may unravel. Anybody else feeling “sleuthian” is free to lend a hand.

The really sad part is that I am no longer surprised at this kind of elitist idiocy.  I am still pissed it happens, specially when it involves Taxpayer’s money…. taxpayers that are NOT allowed to purchase and possess the same type of articles The Betters deem necessary for their butt-saving needs.

In the mid 90s, Anti Smoking groups latched on Joe Camel and accused tobacco companies of making a cool cartoon to sell more cigarettes to minors. After the campaign turned successful, Gun Control groups applied a variation of the same to the NRA’s Eddie Eagle program.

Utilizing the Guilt by Association approach (Both cartoons from hated industries therefore both HAVE to be bad) and with open complicity from the media, a full fledged attack was launched against Eddie Eagle.  The Violence Policy Center (back them when they were relevant) called it “a thinly-disguised marketing tool for itself and the gun industry.” even though there has never been one iota of marketing or even mention of gun ownership in any of the Eddie Materials.

The volume of the scandal was such that many schools which were ready to have the program (free of charge I might add) taught to the kids, decided to cancel it. Millions of kids that could have benefited from learning what to do and not to do when encountering a gun, went on apparently “safer” in ignorance.

Now I read the article above and have to laugh that the media is discovering that perhaps a gun safety program might be necessary  but back then gun safety classes were at best controversial, specially in places like Chicago.

At least we know that Kids in Chicago are much much safer now without the evil influences of Eddie eagle, right?

Do I detect some clever way to mask where Mom’s finances are coming from? It has been a year and we are not still sure where they get their funding although we suspect Bloomberg’s has something to do with it.

Some tax paperwork is due soon and let’s finally put that issue to rest. In the meantime, I wonder if all the Moms know they are getting attached to a group that consistently has it members hauled off to prison than even Congress.
