I bet 99.99% of these idiots did not hear about the Jabin Bogan case where he drove into Mexico with over a quarter of a million rounds of ammunition in his truck back in 2012.  Or the case of another Florida Marine, Jon Hammar who also had the misfortune to go into Mexico with a vintage shotgun and ended up in prison. And they never heard of Richard R. Medina Torres who also took a wrong turn and ended up across the border with an AR-type rifle and a .45-caliber handgun, both were his personal weapons.   am sure there are plenty more cases that never made the news and got “handled” with the proper amount of “mordida.”

But ask CSGV and Salon about the US Government allowing cartel personnel to smuggle 2,000+ weapons over the border and they suddenly become Marcel Marceau with paralysis and amnesia.

Colt does have a history of being tone-deaf to the civilian market.  When you have signs everywhere that your product is very well sought after but refuse to heed to the obvious, you deserve to get hurt.

Colt Python? You will have waves of people holding bundles of cash ready to pay premium for a new batch of those babies. Colt Delta Elite is the official unicorn of the Gun Culture and be ready to pay lots of cash and at least a kidney for one. The M4 series is the yardstick to which other manufacturers are measured for mil-spec and quality. Just imagine Colt bringing back the Peacemaker even for a short run with all the Cowboy Action Shooting going on, they would have people lining up & camping in Hartford just to get the chance to buy one.

Not to cater to civilians is possibly the stupidest thing a gun manufacturer can do in the US.  If an Austrian plastic widget-maker with zero experience in firearms not only made it in the US but revolutionized the Gun World, Colt has no excuse for going under but its own corporate stupidity.

Go read the whole article. Although Intelligun is eons better than the rest of the “solutions” out there (it is the user who gets to define how the system will work of if it is activated at all) the potential for legal abuse is still too high. Under the excuse of “sensible regulation” anti-gun legislators may impose onerous taxes or demands for insurance to gun owners with weapons that do not have the technology installed. Read it as Obamacare for Guns and you will get the idea.

IMHO, until all 50 states and at Federal level we have Strict Scrutiny deeply rooted, we are better off keeping this particular genie safely bottled.

Nevertheless, Mr. Gentry gets mucho kudos for telling Eric Holder off.  Well done, sir.

Jimmy Muhammad, 32, said he and his colleagues had just fended off a gang of masked young men with guns who tried to break into his uncle’s store, United Mart, in the 10300 block of West Florissant. The front door was shattered.

“It’s bad,” said Muhammad, still gripping a pistol. Sirens blasted from all the police vehicles speeding by to other crime scenes. “I don’t blame the police, but they can’t keep up.”

It never fails. There always be some idiots that will take advantage of a legitimate community action and turn it into a pillage and burn situation because they can.

At the end, it is you, your gun and the hope that the idiots understand it is not worth it to lose their lives to a bottle of booze or some other item.  And to hide behind an honest protest is cowardly and demeans the intent of it.
