I have two copies of ‘1984’: One in Spanish dated from the late 60s and beat to death, pages missing but I refuse to part with it because it was the printed version I read for the first time. The I have my first English paperback bought in 1982 in the now defunct Mills Bookstore over at 21st Avenue South in Nashville. Hell, I think I may have a Kindle version too, but I don’t really remember as I always go back to paper. I have been reading ‘1984’ religiously every year for the past 45 years, it s a reminder of the world my parents grew up in and the lies told about Socialism that killed millions.

In the year of Our Lord of Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Four, Ronald Reagan was president and every liberal at the time went ahead to make the comparison between the government under Ronnie and the book ‘1984’. CNN, NPR and even MTV all had the great “thinkers” of the time saying how we were under the heel of a Big Brother president and we were screwed which was laughable because ‘1984’ and most of the Orwell books were against the Socialism that was creeping in the nation via the same jackasses complaining on TV.

Fast Forward 33 years and once again, a new Idiotic Left discovers ‘1984’ and think it applies to a 4-day old government. We get the news that the Publisher is printing more copies after spike in demand. because it seems the Snowflakes have suddenly believe the plight of Winston Smith parallels what they feel about Trump and he is bound to be the new Big Brother and we are going to war with East Asia,….or not…. or something like that. (I am sure most of them only read the Cliff notes.)

I wonder if the Snowflakes will be able to deal with the book’s contents (I am not sure they will be able to understand it)  and the fact that Orwell would have put them against the wall and shot them as he was most definitely not fond of Socialists and Communists. He was one of the few that did not buy the Gentle Soviet Bear bullshit not the kind Uncle Joe Stalin propaganda. Possession of this book or any of the Orwell books in the old Soviet Union would have gotten the accused at least 20 years hard time in a Siberian Gulag or one ballistic dose of Makarov to the back of the head.

I hope that at least a couple of people who read the book for the first time, see the light and dump the patchouli for Hoppes 9.

The Washington Post is counter arguing that the sound of a gun shot is a safety feature to warn others of impending death.

The prevailing theory on the election of Donald Trump was that Americans were tired of Liberal PC culture.  They elected the most anti PC candidate they could.

We’ll I’m tired of Liberal anti gun culture.  I don’t want supressors because they will reduce the likelihood of hearing damage from hunting.  I want supressors because they are cool and screwing one onto the end of my pistol with a 21 round magazine will make a Liberal cry. 

I want Trump to go full Trump on the NFA just to butthurt Bloomberg, Boxer, Cuomo, and Feinstein.   I want to be able to buy a brand new M16A3 receiver (screw burst, I want full auto), slap a 11.5 in 300 AAC upper to it, and screw a can on the end, and only have to fill out one 4473 for the whole thing. 

Why?

Cuz fuck you, this is Trump’s ‘Murica, that’s why.

This is my rebellion.  I want every gun right that every Democrat ever took away from me back, and I want it now. 

It’s not about hearing protection, it’s about grabbing my gun rights back.

From a Facebook post of a friend, I found out that the Division of Licensing is asking for an increase to take care of the influx of new people applying for a Concealed Weapon’s Permit.

TALLAHASSEE –  Lawmakers on Tuesday approved a $2.6 million request by the state Department of Agriculture to handle a continued historic spike in concealed carry permit applications.The agency, which oversees the state’s concealed weapons permit program, expects 316,738 concealed weapons permit applications during this fiscal year, which ends June 30. The agency had originally budgeted to handle last year’s record-breaking 244,726 applications. By Oct. 16, roughly three months into the new fiscal year, it already had collected 105,594 applications, said Derek Buchanan, the agency’s policy and budget director.

Although initially very happy about the increase in permit solicitation, I was worried about the request for money. For those who do not know, Florida has a trust fund to be used only for CWP issues and it cannot be touched for anything else. Last I heard about that fund was that it had a healthy balance, so I was worried about that money.  The new applications alone brought close to 12 million dollars, so where is the money? The answer was to be found down in the same article.

State Department of Agriculture spokesman Aaron Keller said the money will come from a trust fund supported by fees paid with permit applications.

“We’re basically asking the commission to move money over that can only be used for concealed weapons permits,” Keller said.

That the CWP system is basically self-sufficient was a fantastic idea from whomever came up with it: You have funding available, not depending from the regular state budget that can be mired by politics, CWP cannot be painted as a burden on the taxpayer who can get stingy in times of economic woes and it is a beautiful slap in the face to the Gun Control groups just because.
