Dear Hollywood: Please hire people that know guns.

Bad news, American Assassin is based in the book of the same name by the late Vince Flynn.

The good news is that this is the bad guy so he is gonna get killed for terrorism, but mostly for not using the sights right. Mitch Rapp killed more people than the black plague, ebola and typhus combined. Chuck Norris winces at the tought of Mitch Rapp. Honey Badger suddenly gives a shit.

PS: If you are looking for reading material and do not know the works of Vince Flynn, go to Amazon and start buying. You will enjoy the hell out of Mitch Rapp.

California Confiscatory Overreaching Confirmed: The Case of Albert Sheakalee.

Via Bearing Arms:

In 2015, grandstanding California Attorney General Kamala Harris used a raid on a gun collector to her political advantage in her successful Senate run. It now turns out that the raid was entirely unnecessary, at least partially due to incompetence in Harris’s Department of Justice, and that the family is getting all the guns back.

Good! I posted about the Case of Albert Sheakalee and I made the following comment:

“This one stinks to high heaven, but we are going to need more details. Specially with the last part, if neither a judge, nor a mental health professional had him adjudicated, who did and why?”

I am just gonna steal from Bob Owens:

“He was added to California’s Orwellian Armed Prohibited Persons (APPS) database due to being taken into custody under the controversial provision of  Welfare and Institutions Code 5150. Law enforcement officers—who shockingly enough, are generally not trained psychologists— have been accused of “5150-ing” people they find obnoxious, and the provision is so broad that it can be used by disgruntled family members or even former exs as a weapon.”

Just compare California’s 5150 law (1,788 words)  with Florida’s Baker Act (67,362). Mentions of LEO (Peace Officer) in California’s law is 8 times.  Law Enforcement Officer in Florida’s is 23 times and Law Enforcement Agencies 20 times . Not saying that more words are better, but Baker Act via LEO must start with the invoking officer’s detailed arrest report which is the basis for the rest of the procedures that must follow.  There is a bunch of other regulations that cops must follow which explains why in my experience I saw cops being very reluctant to apply Baker Act, in fact, I only saw it applied once in 10 years.

I am very glad that the guns are going back home and that at least once the government entities got a political bloody nose for their over-reaching.

Bloody Shirt Alert: Twitter, Facebook targeted by more Pulse shooting victims.

Ten new plaintiffs have joined a federal lawsuit that targets Twitter, Google, and Facebook with allegations that ISIS used social media to radicalize the Pulse nightclub gunman.

The lawsuit is the second in recent weeks where more than a dozen Pulse victims or their families are now suing over the tragedy. The other big lawsuit is directed at the G4S security firm, where the shooter worked as a security guard, and his wife.

One of the new plaintiffs in the social media case is Christine Leinonen, mother of deceased victim Christopher “Drew” Leinonen. She has been one of the most visible activists among the Pulse victims’ families, appearing at the Democratic National Convention during the presidential campaign to speak about curbing gun violence.

“I think this is one lawsuit that may actually work, so that we could prevent some future tragedies. It’s not going to eliminate them altogether because the [expletive] that want to distribute this kind of carnage can still meet in a coffeehouse or a cave or wherever,” Leinonen said. “They are taking men who might be slightly angry because they’re not getting along with their boss or their wife, and they’re making monsters out of them.”

Twitter, Facebook targeted by more Pulse shooting victims – Orlando Sentinel.

As we know by now, Gun Control is not about guns but about control. And people like Ms Leinonen have contempt not only for the Second Amendment but for the whole Bill of Rights.

Irony? The Orlando Sentinel does not think potshots to the First Amendment will ever apply to them and gleefully covers this lawsuit.  Then again, Media has become the Advertising Agency for the Left, I don’t think they are covered by the First Amendment anyway.

Another Uber Driver facing firing.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans police say an Uber driver has shot and wounded one of two men he told authorities had tried to carjack him.Local media organizations say the Uber driver reported to police that two men jumped into his car about 1:20 a.m. Monday shortly after he let a passenger out. Police say at least one of the two men was armed and pointed a gun at the driver and told him to drive, according to the driver.Authorities say the men subsequently forced the driver out of his car. But the driver tuned out to be armed as well. Police say the driver fired at the two suspects, wounding one. Both suspects got out of the car and ran away.

When I read about cases like this, my brain goes back to the Ayoob Files and Gunfight in a Taxicab: The Mark Yuhr incident and if I am not mistaken happened in 1988. A Miami taxi driver who saved his live because he had a gun with him because he was taking advantage of Florida’s recent Shall Carry law and had his permit and two guns when one Orlando Barroso (recently imported from Cuba via the Mariel boatlift) tried to rob him at gun point. Barroso lost the encounter, but Mr. Yuhr was suspended without pay by the cab company and the Dade CountyTaxi Regulation Bureau wanted to fine him.  Miami PD had declared the shooting as self-defense and so did the State Attorney’s office which was not precisely ran by the most pro gun individual back then, you might remember one Janet Reno?

So almost 30 years later, we are still seeing this kind of punishing behavior by companies which make no sense. If anything, it should be if not encouraged, at least ignored the fact that Uber Drivers (and Lyft drivers and Pizza delivery people) may or may not carry guns and other devices for self-defense. Basically to obtain a degree of herd immunity or at least make the bad guys consider that instead of a bland victim up front, they may be risking life or grave bodily injury by trying to rob a well-heeled individual.

I guess some things take longer than expected to fix.

And it is dated, but still a great reference book. Just got to Mas’ Amazon page and select this and the rest of his extensive library.

Sunset on the Republic

The Washington Post published an article, explaining in a very simple and straightforward way, why under no circumstances, will Hillary Clinton be able to replace Donald Trump as president within the time frame of the current administration.

Sorry, Democrats. Trump’s not going anywhere. You wouldn’t like who would follow anyway.

In a nutshell: The Constitution.
In typical Democrat fashion, liberal commenters showed just how much regard they have for the rule of law and founding document of this nation.
Then I saw this in the WaPo author’s timeline.
Civil War.  If they don’t get Hillary, they are going to start a civil war, and they think they will win it.
I get that sure, some Liberals are buying guns,  but I still don’t think there is enough of them to make an effective army.  But they can fantasize , right?  Yes they do, and they fantasize about killing other Americans.
Actually, reading this, if the Left wants to break away from the US, form their own People’s Republic of America, and appoint Hillary Clinton President Regina for Life, I want them to too.
The political pendulum in America is always swinging.  We got Obama, then we got Trump.  It will swing back one day.  If there is one thing I know about Progressives/Liberals/Leftists, when they daydream, they day dream about Genocide.  They fantasize about death camps for those who disagree with them.  The Soviet Union, NAZI Germany, Fascist Italy, Maoist China, North Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba, etc., the list goes on.
I know that the next Democrat elected will do so with the promise of making Trump supporters pay, and pay dearly.  It will be a campaign entirely based  on Democrat vengeance.  I don’t want to see that.  If they want to go their own way now, and rule their own country, and leave us who didn’t support Hillary alone, I’ll take that.  I have a feeling it is better than what will come after Trump.
