Florida: 2 Critically Important Bills on Governor’s Desk. HELP NEEDED NOW

I am going backwards here, so bear with me:

NRA-ILA Generic

FIRST, CALL THE GOVERNOR AT 850-717-9418!
URGE HIM TO SIGN SB-128 Burden of Proof and SB-1052 Justifiable Use of Force.

THEN, SEND the Governor an EMAIL to be sure he knows why this is important. In the subject line put: PLEASE sign Self-defense bills SB-128 and SB-1052

Use the following email address to contact the Governor:

Rick.Scott@eog.myflorida.com

What for?

NRA-ILA

One, SB-128 Burden of Proof by Sen. Rob Bradley and Rep. Bobby Payne restores the presumption of innocence in self-defense cases by putting the burden of proof BACK ON THE STATE where it belongs.

The second,  SB-1052 Justifiable Use of Force  by Sen. David Simmons and Rep. Cord Byrd corrects a 2014 drafting error (by a member of the House Criminal Justice Committee Staff) resulting in a requirement that citizens be under attack in their own homes before exercising self-defense – and in some circumstances imposing a duty to retreat from your home before exercising self-defense.

Abusive prosecutors and anti-gun organizations are already working hard trying to get the Governor to veto these bills.  Prosecutors and anti-gun State Attorneys are lobbying the Governor’s staff with hysterical predictions and disinformation about the burden of proof and self-defense issues. They conspired to deprive you of your basic fundamental right of innocence until proven guilty, in self-defense cases, and are aggressively fighting to stop the restoration of those rights.

You must help us fight this attack on your self-defense rights. PLEASE contact the Governor immediately.

OK People, One Phone Call and one email is not gonna kill you. You know the Opposition is not calling but probably using hired callers. Get moving!

H. R. 2620 Eliminating the “Sporting Purpose” clause.

I just got an update. The bill has picked up 5 new sponsors as of yesterday:

Rep. Cole, Tom [R-OK-4]
Rep. Budd, Ted [R-NC-13]
Rep. Cook, Paul [R-CA-8]
Rep. Flores, Bill [R-TX-17]
Rep. DeSantis, Ron [R-FL-6]

It stands at 43 sponsors, but it is moving in the right direction. Here is the list of sponsors so far and there is a good chance yours ain’t in it. You may want to drop him/her a line.

Shooting in real life is not filled with cool moves.

Case out of Dundal, Md. Robbery suspect steals from two people at gun point and then takes the bus. Police catches the bus and a shoot out ensues. The “party” gets caught on camera by a bystander.

Nothing “John Wick” about this exchange of fire. The deep fear of getting shot and the desire/need to shoot back makes for an awkward “dancing.”

A friend in Facebook commented about the videographer apparent lack of self awareness:

“Oh, when the camera turns on, situational awareness wraps prudent judgement up by the arm and they stroll away under the moonlight for a long, slow walk.”

I can’t say I disagree with the comment.

Florida Awesome CWP Stats

I was checking stats and almost 9% of Floridians have a Concealed Weapons Permit. Think about it: one in eleven people you see anywhere in Florida is legally carrying a firearm for self-defense. From praying in Church to ordering a Happy Meal at Mickey D’s.
We are also a fully 10% of all carry permits in the US.
And this is when they call us The Gunshine State, we like it!
“And you say that like it is a bad thing.”

California: Refuse to bake a Cake & Lose Your Gun Rights.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — New California gun legislation would ban anyone convicted of hate crimes from purchasing a gun. Current law bans criminals convicted of felonies from owning guns.
The Disarm Hate Act would apply to misdemeanor hate crimes. Charleston. Orlando. San Bernardino.
It doesn’t matter where the shooting happens, Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer (D-Los Angeles), says the motive is often the same: hate.“We always understood it but it’s risen to a level I’ve never seen, ever,” said Jones-Sawyer.Jones-Sawyer says hate crimes are precursors to more serious crimes. And he says he can curb gun violence by targeting people convicted of misdemeanor hate crimes.“We decided to go in close that loop, prohibit them from owning a firearm,” he said.
The Disarm Hate Act, bans anyone convicted of a hate crime from owning a gun for 10 years after the conviction. The bill would take away gun rights for anyone convicted of vandalizing places of worship or committing a crime against someone based on their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.

Now mix this stupid law with the SJWs, Safe Space Dwellers and Third Generation Feminists claiming to be “triggered” and attacked by people they don’t like just for daring to breathe in the same zip code and you have a cocktail for a constitutional catastrophe and downright abuse.

As somebody smart once said “What could go wrong?”
