Month: May 2018

Final Update on the Ellen’s Restaurant ordeal.

So it was not the “oops my booboo” that Ellen’s posted about the message of their tickets. It was a preplanned thing by one of Ellen’s owners and discussed online. Here are the thoughts of Joe Groves:

Now, it seems that after being caught in fragant lie, Joe Groves is telling every media outlet that wants to listen to him that the NRA members that dropped to eat in his place were constantly cussing and calling racists names to his personnel. And that is not all, that NRA members are calling him with death threats and announcing they are going to burn down the place. Nice try Joe, pulling the Race Card and the Victim Card is not going to save you from the tag of FUCKING LIAR.

PS: Why did you clean your Facebook account? Suddenly there is only one solitary post for all 2018.

That is all.

The Dancing Monkeys of NoRA’s Gun Control Rally in Dallas: Fail.

I have not received pictures from our “spies,” but I have the strange feeling we can officially declare NoRA’s Gun Control Rally [featuring Alyssa Milano] a bigger failure than the prediction of Hillary becoming president.

David Goins is a journalist WFAA-TV in Dallas, not an NRA plant.  But if you need confirmation, here is the local NBC station.

And one nice photo from the local Fox.

This is the lobby of the convention center with people trying to get in. to the NRA Annual Meeting:

Not one plastic blade of astrotruf anywhere.

The Colossal Fall of Moms Demand Action in Dallas

I will admit that I had been paying more attention to the Dancing Monkeys of NoRA than Moms Demand. I was surprised to see that they did hold a rally , something that I had not seen posted in their Facebook page last time I checked.

This is the picture I saw: the iconic mom standing firm against the evil forces of the NRA (us)..

So I checked to see if there were other pictures from their rally and I found them.

That is it, a grand total of four photos. Why? These people love to take pictures of themselves and others, or at least that is what they did in previous anti NRA AM events.

The answer? See it for yourself.

That is the Moms Demand Rally seen from above via the local CBS station. They even said that the crowds were not what some had expected. No shit.

One thing I noticed was that there is no mention of Shannon Watts. I am not sure, but I don’t think she even to the rally. That is reaffirming my suspicions that she is separating herself from MDA and going after her political career.
The question remains: Is Bloomberg done trying to grow astroturf? Maybe, maybe not, but it would explain why we are getting hit from the corporate side.

Anyway, today was a terribly embarrassing day for the Moms and Gun Control.

However, at the lobby of the convention center, a “few” liked-minded folks were trying to gain entrance to the NRA Annual Meeting:

That is just the lobby.

We are the Grassroots.

The award for best “Cover the Sun with Your Thumb” by a journalist goes to…

Alisha Ebrahimji from @WFAA Dallas for trying to chide the fact that Moms Demand Action were not able to gather the multitudes for Gun Control they keep announcing.

Failure to gather a crowd in a gun control rally will now be defined as intimate. Gotcha.

Eau de Rem Oil

I got a haircut and beard trim today. It is one of those high end places that cater only to men.  I like it because I can get a straight razor shave there.

The woman asked me if I wanted “beard oil” when my trim was over.

I told her there were only four acceptable oils to have in your beard

1. Motor oil.
2. Gun oil.
3. Machine oil.
4. Fry oil.

Also, the only acceptable way to get those oils into your beard is by getting dripped and/or sprayed with the requisite lubricant while working.

Any man worthy of his beard will not have scented oil rubbed into it.

NRA AM: Ellen’s Faux Apology not being bought.

Apparently Ellen’s has felt some heat for her early screw up in its tickets and issued an official “The Dog Ate My Homework” apology and changed the message the bill.

Here is the link to Colin Noir’s Facebook page where the full size “apology” can be read. I am going to concentrate in one passage:

Early this morning, we began posting a message on the bottom of our receipts stating that Ellen’s intends to donate a portion of our proceeds this week toward the efforts of finding common ground and compromise in the fight to eliminate needless gun violence, especially in our schools and against our dedicated police officers.

With a limited number of characters available for that message, we simplified it to say we support “reasonable and effective gun regulations” toward that end.

What was not expected was that those two words — reasonable and effective — would be misinterpreted as our support for gun control. The mistake was an honest one. The opposite is true.

You cannot claim the “I ran out of character’s space”  excuse and then add more words to the message as it only serves to confirm you are full of it.  I would have had more respect if they had stick to their guns (pun intended) rather than come up with a shitty excuse.

What is the expression making the rounds? “Get woke, go broke.”

Hat Tip to last Thirdpower who should be writing this in his own blog 🙂
