Don’t get upset if you do not see somebody who played a part. The list of people who participated in Miami vice is HUGE and a good part of them went on to have memorable careers.

Top of my head, I have fond memories of two who went on to be very famous. The first is Ed O’Neil who gave in the first season of the series, gave an amazing performance in the episode “Heart of Darkness” where he played an undercover FBI agent teetering between going rogue and staying the course. I never saw the end coming as for the day it was shocking as hell, but then Miami Vice changed a lot of the way co shows were written.

The other actor is Bruce Willis in the episode “No Exit” where he played a gun dealer who was abusing his wife and acting like a total scumbag and I mean somebody who you would shoot without thinking much. His acting was so good at being so bad that my wife had blocked him in that episode from her memory and she is a total Bruce Willis fan. She ate all the episodes of the series Moonlighting that came right after Miami Vice and watched every Bruce Willis film. It was not till we got the DVD set and I knowingly played that episode that she realized that the character she hated the most in Miami Vice was played by her favorite actor. It also tells you about the change of the TV bad guys dynamics when a show had a bad guy with zero redeeming values and the audience wanted popped or worse.

You may want to spend your lunch break perusing the list and go “Hey! I don’t remember him/her in the show!”

(PS: I am watching Hill Street Blues again and they also have a decent roster of actors who went on to be great and/or famous. Not as huge as Miami Vice, but entertaining)

Surveillance video captured the moments when a man pulled out a gun in Cape Coral, and a good Samaritan shot him down.
The incident happened at Campbell Roofing Friday afternoon. The man who fired his gun was a concealed carry permit holder, but has not yet been identified. The man who originally pulled out a gun—Kevin Bruzos—is a convicted felon.

Mr. Bruzos sports a felony conviction for a Felony Battery in 2007 and a possession charge in 2009 which leads me to believe he was on parole for the initial charge, got caught with controlled substance, got his parole violated which led him to his involuntary vacation time.

A 29-year-old man was shot in self-defense and charged with aggravated assault Friday at a roofing company in Cape Coral, according to the police department.
Police said Kevin Bruzos is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He threatened two people with a gun at Campbell Roofing located at 911 SE 15th Ave., police said.
One of the individuals Bruzos threatened was legally licensed to carry a concealed firearm and fired after Bruzos pointed his gun at the individual, who police did not identify or charge. Bruzos ignored orders from the individual to drop his gun, police said.

I really don’t know how to feel about the last sentence. Although I think that from a legal standpoint (IANAL) it will help your case giving fair warning to an armed criminal, the waiting-for-an-answer time could be disastrous if the response from the bad guy is to pull the trigger.

In any case, I am very glad only the threatening felon got injured and a Good Guy with a Gun was the one that stopped him. I do not expect the Opposition to be celebrating this outcome. What we should do is have a “Eat-In” at Publix. Order some of their sandwiches or deli platters and have a picnic outside in the parking lot, sort of Concealed Carry Tailgate Party.

Democrat candidate for governor in Florida, Chris King, wants to impose a tax on ammunition.   Keep in mind there is already a federal Firearms and Ammunition Excise Tax (FAET) that taxes ammo at 11%.

But there is no problem the Democrats can’t solve by taxing and spending a bit more.

The reason is offensive as fuck.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Chris King rolled out a bold gun violence prevention plan Friday that would create a fund designated to research, school safety and intervention programs.

The “Every Kid Fund” for Gun Violence Prevention would have three sources, King said during a roundtable discussion at Allendale United Methodist Church: sales tax revenue from gun and ammunition purchases, a 6 percent “safety fee” on the sale of ammunition, and revenue generated from aspects of King’s criminal justice reform plan.

He’s going to punitively tax law abiding gun owners in order to fund a program that undermines gun rights.

I lived in the Chicago suburbs when Cook County imposed its gun tax and attempted to impose an ammo tax.  Cook county charges $25 per gun sold in taxes.  There was an attempt to tax ammo at a rate of $0.05 per round, but that fell through when there was enough push back as the tax on 22 LR was more than the cost of 22 LR (this was before the great 22 drought).

That tax money goes to a fund to pay for the hospital bills of uninsured criminals who got shot in Chicago’s unending gang wars.

Cook County Board President Tony Preckwinkle proposed the tax in October “with no apologies” saying the money would go toward offsetting the high cost taxpayers shoulder as a result of gun violence.

“There are responsible gun owners in Cook County who use firearms for either protection or recreation,” NBC Chicago reports Preckwinkle saying at the time. “However, the social and economic cost of the criminal and irresponsible use is very high. As a result, Cook County residents are paying for the negative impact of a product that only a small portion our population uses.”

So law abiding gun owners who go to federally licensed gun stores to show ID, an Illinois issued FOID, and undergo a 4473/NICS check are paying taxes to cover the hospital needs of gang members shot with illegally possessed guns.

It was offensive as fuck when they passed it and it’s still offensive as fuck.

It also is one of two reason the Cabela’s in Hoffman Estates sucks and is nearly dead.  Between the gun tax and the “screw you” that Cook County did to Cabela’s on retail space tax the entire upstairs is closed off, the restaurant is gone, and the gun counter and library are just about empty.  Unless you were a Cabela’s card holder, it’s less in gas to drive to the Bass Pro in Bollingbrook or Gurnee Mills than the $25 gun tax and $10.25% sales tax in Cook County.

Now that Cabela’s and Bass Pro have merged, I expect the Hoffman Estates Cabela’s to close because of Cook County anti-gun fuckery.

Chris King is not the only Democrat politician doing this.  Democrats across the nation are proposing taxes on guns and ammo explicitly to fund anti-gun action.

Seattle put in place an ammo tax for the same reason as Chicago.

Sellers covered by the tax include individuals, sporting-goods stores and pawnshops. Around the time the City Council passed the tax of $25 per firearm and 2 to 5 cents per round of ammunition in 2015, there were 40 federal firearms licensees in the city, including two brick-and-mortar stores dedicated to gun sales.

The council established the tax to fund gun-violence research at Harborview Medical Center, saying treatment of gunshot victims there costs taxpayers many millions of dollars each year.

After a study found that gunshot survivors were 21 times more likely than people hospitalized for other reasons to return with another gunshot wound, researchers now provide some gunshot survivors with services ranging from substance-abuse and mental-health treatment to job assistance.

No fucking shit.  They are criminals and gang members.  Seattle is taxing hunters and target shooters to pay for the medical costs of drug dealers shooting each other.

This is the Democrat plan.  Not just will law abiding gun owners have to give up their rights because of the decisions made by criminals but law abiding gun owners have to pay to treat and care for these criminals who cost us our civil rights.

It is as fucking offensive an idea as could be implemented.  It shows you just how much these motherfuckers love criminals and hate gun owners.

Courts in Washington (State) and Illinois have upheld these taxes.  If it becomes law in Florida, it will most likely stand.

Maybe the GOP should propose a $5,000 per abortion tax and use it to fund abstinence only education and adoption centers.  At least that actually has the potential to save lives worth saving, as opposed to patching up drug dealers who will shoot or get shot some more.

“I hate you and so I will make you pay for your destruction” is no a policy that a governor should be elected on.

Floridians can’t let this come to pass.

Here is where it gets really scary:

@AmyMek anonymously spread hate online for years. She can’t hide anymore.

So this woman is a private person.  She says things which are anti-Islamic, but not factually incorrect.  The problem is they are incredibly politically incorrect.

Other than being a Twitter troll, why the fuck does any of this matter?

It doesn’t.  Which is why HuffPo decided to publish this woman’s entire life story.  The next part is truly fucking horrifying:

Mekelburg appeared to operate without fear of fallout anywhere. As this story neared publication, she kept tweeting hate, even when her husband’s job was in jeopardy. Last Friday, after HuffPost asked the WWE a second time if anyone there had known about @AmyMek before hiring Siino, the company responded definitively.

“No,” said the WWE spokesperson. “Now that it has come to our attention, Sal Siino is no longer an employee.”

So HuffPo’s digging into a Twitter account cost her husband his job?

After all of this, who is going to hire him?  Nobody, his going to go broke.

But the horror isn’t over yet.

A HuffPo costing this man his job by haranguing his employer was not going to teach them a lesson.  They had to be stalked and threatened too.

Unfortunately, hate that festers online against any group of people doesn’t always stay online. Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik murdered 77 people in 2011 after radicalizing himself with the same anti-Muslim propaganda that Mekelburg spreads. In the U.S., assaults and hate crimes against Muslims have risen alarmingly since MAGA xenophobes mustered on social media.

No they haven’t.  They’ve been nearly universally hoaxes.  Muslim attacks on Jews however is on the rise.

And hate isn’t always so explosive. It often manifests as a quiet cruelty. Last year, according to Mekelburg’s other former friend, the Twitter troll stopped at a Sunoco in Fishkill to buy bananas at the gas station’s convenience store. Inside, she found an older man ― a Muslim immigrant ― working behind the counter. Mekelburg paid for her bananas but refused to speak to the man. She wouldn’t look at him. She just threw a few bills on the counter. When the man tried to place some change in her hand, she made it clear to him that he was not to touch her.

Then she went home to tweet.

Now HuffPo is systematically targeting her friends too.  No one in this woman’s sphere will be left unmolested by HuffPo until the wrongthinker is unpersoned by everyone who knows her.

There are bigoted assholes on Twitter, but costing an account holder’s husband his job is beyond the pale.

This is begging for regulation.  Nobody should be fired because of what a spouse, parent, sibling, child, or friend says online.

“Bob, you are a good employee, but we are Woke.  Your brother-in-law supports Trump on his Facebook page.  So either we’re going to have to fire you or you will have to get a divorce.  It’s up to you Bob.”

This is a Soviet tactic and it needs to be fought back against, and hard.

I’m a big believer in the First Amendment, but a free press should not be used to destroy the real lives of people in the sphere of anonymous or semi-anonymous online accounts.

Had this been nearly 250 years ago, this HuffPo reporter would be tracking down Silence Dogood to make sure everybody knows how awful Ben Franklin is.

The proper response in past times would have been to grab the little shit, lean him over a table and proceed to spank his buttocks till he was streaming tears.

However, we are in more illuminated times so he will remain unpunished and get away with more till he mistakenly gets in the way of a hardcore criminal who will proceed to give him what’s known as “educational beating” or police takes him down for shooting up his classmates.

Nothing with this kid tell me we will see him involved in a happy ending.
